The villagers I invite don't move

Hi everyone!

I have an issue. I'm playing for 2 weeks and I have invited some villagers, but they never move to my island. Does anyone know what's going on?

Have you tried time traveling? I’ve heard that helps.

From the island I visit using Nook Miles Tickets.

that’s weird... how many plots do you have available? and are you inviting more villagers than plots that you have?

i dont know if this is the case with you, but you can only invite one villager a day!

They should move once you build the plots. You have to talk to Tom Nook and he’ll give you instructions for building the first 3

Yeah, i think the option to build the plots didnt appear for me until after building the shop. Tom asked me to talk with Timmy about the shop when i picked the"what should i do" option. I think he gets a call on the day the shop is opened and then he can talk to you about selling land.
