What method are you using? I've only ever tried the 2/2 method, making sure I was set to a time that the identified villager is typically walking around town

Don't be mean to them but don't have them as your best friend. I was trying to kick Bella out so I completely ignored her and set hundreds of pitfalls onto her but nothing ever happened. I started talking to her normally and she asked to move out within the week.

why post reserved villagers under up for grabs?

because if the person does not reply in time, at least people will be alerted to the fact I have that villager. It gives others a chance to get her (making a waitlist, etc.). Have gotten a few PMs for her already :]
OR if someone PMs me that they want to trade a dreamie for the reserved one, I'd take that
