The Trick To Getting Sloppy/Cardboard

So, I plan on trading for both of these sets, but just for my own knowledge is there any trick to getting these items to appear in the Lost&Found?

I took a gamble and assumed because they're rare that you'd have to let the lost items build up, but I don't think that's the case anymore. The back table in my Police Station is full, but nothing's on the smaller one.

So I guess what I'm getting at is, does it matter whether I pick up the lost items or not? Does a full/empty L&F have any impact on your chances?

I found that they showed up far more frequently in Re-tail when I time travelled a lot. I have never seen them in the Lost & Found.

My friends and I have 6 towns among us; in the non-tt towns only one item has ever shown up (a cardboard bed in Re-Tail). In the tt town, sloppy stuff has shown up several times in Re-Tail, I don't think she ever got any cardboard items, or anything in the Lost and Found. We were just talking about it because I'm wanting a sloppy table and she's said she stopped getting them a while back; she was going to see if she can figure out if anything triggered them showing up or if it was random. (My guess, random.)

Also, I find that while the emptier L&F and Re-tail are, the more new items get added. I've just started keeping them both clear in the hopes that my table will show up.

I've never found anything of worth in the L&F, but I get sloppy items quite regularly in Re-Tail, and once or twice I've gotten a cardboard item. I also keep my Re-Tail empty, if that makes a difference.

It's probably best to have the slots for re-tail and lost and found open. I've only experienced cardboard or sloppy series through Re-tail. Tbh, there is no shortcut. Just time traveling or you could buy it from other players.

Cranky villagers seem to have sloppy items to put in retail. :3 In my case, Gaston.

I've had a peppy villager (Puddles) put the cardboard bed up in my Re-tail.

My cranky/jock/lazy villagers tend to put up Sloppy and Cardboard items in my Re-Tail. In fact, I collected about 4 pieces of Sloppy items from the same cranky villager.

My peppy villager Nibbles put up a cardboard table in Re-Tail...by that point my Re-Tail was a ghost town.

I've found only a cardboard chair at retail from Kevin but I've never found sloppy items
the only sloppy that I have it's from Marshal house
my police station is kinda useless just seeds and paper...

I've heard the Sloppy and Cardboard furniture shows up in Retail depends on what villagers you have. Certain villagers will have a likelyhood of put it up for sale, some more than others, some won't at all. I'm not 100% sure...

I heard of a theory that sloppy items are actually items that appear when a villager's "inventory" (you can't see it, but it's in the game's coding) has run down to less than x items, so it's basically creating this item so that the inventory of a villager isn't whittled down further.

I started getting them in my harvest town after clearing retail out. A sloppy clock showed up first.
Left it empty and than more items showed up. A new piece would show up 1 to 3 days later. Cardboard items starting showing up next.
Received all of the cardboard items more than 2 times and a lot of sloppy repeats.
The only problem is the villagers house will start to get empty. In my harvest town I don't care about their houses. I never speak to the villagers.

Found my first sloppy item in my main town at retail. Tutu was selling her sloppy clock.

One of my lazies, Stitches, was the one who put up a cardboard bed in the flea market in Re-tail. He didn't have it in his house, so I supposes the likelihood of getting one from any villager is random. Well, I suppose there would be more of a chance if that villager already has a sloppy or cardboard item in their house.

This happened to me recently, actually. I was visiting deirdre (since the cute thing invited me over ♥) and after some time I noticed she had a cardboard sofa as well and was more than happy to sell it to me?

Other than that though, I believe I have had no other personal experience or luck with finding cardboard or sloppy items in my retail from my villagers ;; although it's interesting and helpful to read how it seemed to work out for other people? maybe i'll be able to get lucky as well like that one day too. up until now, i thought the only places where you could get cardboard or sloppy items was either the police station or villager's homes.

I seem to get both more when I t/t mainly in re-tail and occasionally in police station. I pick up items daily from police station to encourage new items to appear.

I've only seen them in ReTail while cycling and time traveling like crazy. I don't even remember who put them up - the villagers just came and went so fast. I've had my main town over a year, and I don't have any villagers who came with that furniture. It's never appeared in my main town.
