The Theory of Lucky

Lucky's one of those cool unique villagers with a lot of speculation and theory surronding him. Since he moved into my town today, I was curious to see what everyone thought about his origins and why he's all bandaged up like that.

A well known theory that was semi-confirmed by nintendo is that Lucky is all bandaged up due to a fishing accident that involved 'a hook and 2 bass' (slightly morbid!)

Another theory is that Lucky is actually based on a mummified dog, since animals were often mummified and entombed with their owners after death in Ancient Egypt. However, his catchphrase counters that, as he says 'rrr-owch' which makes it seem more likely the bandages are as a result of injury.

My favourite theory is that Lucky is the undead version of Walker. I read this one a while back and thought it was a really dark twist on something seemingly innocent (and I always love some hidden dark lore hidden in a forest of innocence!) His glowing yellow eye sort of makes this a possibility, and his black fur on all his exposed areas does as well, since Walker is all black with the exception of his face.

What are your thoughts on Lucky?

Well, they at both my dreamies, and even though there are still some differences, they do look similar! Some would argue they have different birthdays, but maybe Lucky's birthday is when he shed himself from Walker...

I love theory about him being Walker as well! I mean they are both lazy, they have the same coffee preferences!

my thoughts on Lucky are, regardless of the circumstances that got him all wrapped up, Lucky, ironically, isn't very lucky.

I'd say I agree with the whole injury thing, because of his catchphrase and because Lucky is a name people give to dogs who were rescued from a near-death situation lmao

Ooh, the whole undead thing about Lucky being Walker is interesting. I personally have a fear of mummies, or anything dead, so I don't like to believe my bandaged up puppy dog is a zombie. <.<;
Like gem83 said, people do usually name dogs "Lucky" or anything similar to that, when they were rescued from a near-death thing. A hook and two bass? Hm.... I might just write a story about that.

I forgot to mention that the difference between the numbers on Lucky and Walker's shirts is 44, a number considered to be associated with death in many east asian cultures

I like the fish theory..not that i'm a fisher or anything but i don't think sea bass attack. Maybe he was Walker's brother he wanted to be as cool as him, to prove something, so he went out to catch a big fish, a shark or strong big fish in general. The fish was too strong for him and threw him into the ocean some how impaling himself on either his fishing rod (somehow) or something below the water causing bleeding. You can imagine what comes next. It's a bit dark but i think Animal Crossing isn't as innocent as it seems. Specially if its made by a Japanese company (no offense) but they are awesome at making horror things. The reason why Walker doesn't recognise him probably because he doesn't recognise or realise it's him because he is the walking pup (dun dun dunn) or just knows him as being dead. Lucky is too ashamed to speak out.


The other theory i like is, I also like to believe he is part of Ankha's life some how or just Egyptian. It still justifies the "rrr-owch" because i wouldn't want a hook up my nose taking my brain out (its history look it up), Or the embalming. Plus if the Pharaoh dies before the animal i think they killed them so they can be buried together (that's just my thought not too sure on that one if its an actual thing or not but i know they are buried with their pets) either way you don't really know what would of happened to him to get mummified, it could of been hurtful.

It's a little funny 'cause he's scared of mummies.

Since he's lazy maybe he got hit by a car getting food. Right now cars aren't available but sometimes the villagers hint to it "rumor has it me and ___ have a car together" or something on those lines. Maybe he's not dead at all, just injured. Maybe it was fire while he was cooking his food. Fur and hair don't do well with fire (learnt that from Pokemon). Maybe he is "Lucky" because he escaped death.

Undead Walker ftw. if you notice, their poses are mirror versions of themselves and if you subtract the numbers on their shirts you get 44. 4 is a homonym of death o.0

I like that theory of him being undead Walker too.. Although he could be like a mummy I always assumed he was just a bandaged/injured dog. His yellow eye does make me think of him as undead or as if he's not a "regular" dog though..

^ That's interesting, I actually just looked at him on wikia and apparently Lucky's goal is to be a doctor.. Might suggest that he really is just an injured dog after all?
