Well guys I have no idea if there has been a thread made about this but Tangy is a good peppy cat, Orange or Tangerine?

I honestly don't even know but because of the name I will go with Tangerine

But wait? Is the name a play on Tangerine or is it like a flavor?

Is her name pronounced Tan-jee or Tan-gee?

I posted a poll almost exactly like this not long ago - most people were quite strong in their opinion that it isn't tan-jee like "tangerine". I personally don't mind either option.

I remember years and years ago in school when me and my close friend called her "Tanjee" as in tangerine, but we were very much corrected to "Tangee" as in tang. I'm not really bothered about it either way though

I always figured her name was pronounced like the word "tangy," since it's a real English word. So, "tang-ee." Not "tan-jee" or "tan-gee." If you go to a dictionary website and make it pronounce the word for you, that's how I think you say her name.

As for what fruit she is... I always assumed she was supposed to look like an orange, since there are oranges in Animal Crossing. But I suppose she could be some other orange-colored citrus fruit.
