Agent S asked me to deliver a package to Maple. So, I happily accepted her task of walking 20 steps and gave it to Maple. But when I gave it to Maple she said, "Wow, thanks for delivering it, but I was gonna sell it at re-tail anyway. But thanks for delivering it." And she gave me nothing. So I wen't to talk to Agent S, and she gave me nothing. I got ripped off 2 days in a row. (Yesterday, Tamodachi life was suppose to come in the mail because I pre ordered it.)

You can save and continue, open the gift, then reload the game. I do this all the time with villagers I plan on trading to make sure it's not something they can put in their homes.

I think your friendship increases with the person who asked you to deliver the item. If you find them afterward and say you delivered it the tune plays. If anything, it at least contributes to the Good Samaritan badge.

I always guess clothing. I usually get it right. Occasionally it'll be furniture, but it's rarely anything else.

That's happened to me a few times, both with villagers making me guess what's inside, and just straight-up not offering me any reward at all. It kind of feels like a waste of time, but I guess if it still contributes to the good samaritan badge, then it's not COMPLETELY pointless...

Rosie did that to me today. I brought her something from Caroline and she was all "Oh, this? I bought another one, so I'll just go sell it to someone else." I mean I don't care cause anything she would have given me anyway I probably would have just gone and sold/ gotten pinged at by another villager for.
