The resetting campsite trick..

So there's a trick where you make a new villager and you'll more likely get a better chance in getting more campers. The one where you change the time to 5:58 AM with your mayor and then create a new character, check on the campsite and such. So, I did that.. and I got Stitches in the campsite. I liked Stitches, so I decided to set up the tent, do the saving with Isabelle, blah blah blah. After that I went on with my mayor and checked on the campsite.. and no camper was there anymore. This happened before, I really don't get it. I'm doing all of the steps correctly, but it always seems like when I go on my mayor and check the campsite the camper isn't there anymore. Am I doing something wrong?

Well, when I did it, I just reset, really!

Edit: To be more clear, I just reset the game on my mayor's profile, and the villager changes. As long as you reset when you have the campsite, I'm pretty sure there will always be a villager.
