I've been collecting ore and gold nuggets consistently since I got my silver shovel and turning them in for the golden furniture. At first it was just for the catalog, really, but since I redecorated my house I've got a gold room which is coming together really nicely. The trouble is, getting the last few pieces is super-frustrating because I am getting so many duplicates! I've tried a bunch of stuff to improve my luck (for getting ore and in case it helps with the outcome): lucky items and furniture, lucky clothing, hideous hats from Katrina, feng shui, and still I've got multiple screens, beds, tables, dressers, man/woman statues, and I think flooring, but not those last pieces I need. I got another dresser today. ><
Maybe I just got lucky with Pascal and Brewster and Gulliver but they haven't duplicated anything for me (so far, at least until I got everything for the first two), so it's just extra annoying to deal with it for this.
Plus, I don't want to landscape over my rock drop spots until the set is done...and I have 8 rocks in my town. So that's annoying me too, big bare patches where I want to put flowers or paths, but can't until I'm done rock-smashing. I could pick up/erase everything around them all every day but that's too much of a pain.
Anyway, just needed to get that off my chest.
I'm sure other people can commiserate with me! Shame you can't tell Shaun specifically what piece you want him to make for you.
