I really hate to do this, but I'm looking to get Wart Jr. and Bella out of my town. At the moment, they like me, and I wouldn't feel good by being jerks to them to make them leave. But if that's the only way, then I suppose there's no other choice. But that's where I'd like to be wrong. If I can get these two to leave, and so I can get other villagers in my town, what would be the most effective way?

Yes. Be their bff. Once they achieve a high friendship level, its as if they accomplish their mission and they want to leave.

What I find works the best is the pester them. I don't mean by hitting them with nets or anything like that, but rather, just talk to them excessively and do favors/etc if asked. Talk many times in a row (until they need time to "think" about something), wait awhile and do the same thing again. Chances are, the following day, they're probably going to say that they're leaving. It worked twice in a row for me with different villagers. I wouldn't say this is "fool-proof" or anything like that, but you wanted a fast way and I found that worked quickly for me.

i heard completely ignoring them is the trick, like never talking to them even once o.o

IDK if coincidence or not....but Frita moved into a spot I needed, so I ignored her completely and she was gone in 2 weeks

It takes 2 weeks of ignoring them. Unless they've just moved in. If they've just moved in and YOU'VE TALKED TO THEM, it will still take 2 weeks of ignoring. If they've just moved in and you HAVEN'T talked to them, it'll take a few days. The BFF thing IS another way to do this.

Watchingthethreetops, does that strategy also work (ignoring them by never talking) with starter villagers? Probably not, but still... for posying here btw, but it's just a small question so I hope you don't mind.

Really the best way is to TT. Just be patient with it so that you don't lose wanted villagers. the two day forward/back method is probably best/fastest in this situation, but if no one pings, either save & end then restart to see if you get a ping, or only go one day forward until you find a mover.

The best way is to befriend them, talk to them often, do tasks they give you and write them letters. Don't ignore them or hit them with your net since you're in the category of them already liking you. Eventually they'll ping you and tell you they want to leave though they can change their mind too and decide to stay because your friendship with them isn't high enough. I mean there's a way easier way in my opinion but it's totally different.

I'm going to quote you because I see you like Princess Tutu, and that's awesome <3

aaand because it worked for me too, I didn't talk to Renee that much but I was always saying "yes" to making her favors and never fulfilled them. She moved 2 weeks later thank god...

Sorry to tell you, but official info says IT IS ABSOLUTELY RANDOM who villager will want to leave. No matter if you are a saint or a demon to them, that changes nothing. You can only cross fingers and keep trying.

Don't talk to them
It will take a while for them to leave, as you already are friends, but they will
I did this with Chadder (Introduced myself, never talked to her again) They seem to move out on their own, so I don't think you need to risk them changing their minds about leaving if they talk to you about it. So yeah. IGNORE VILLAGERS YOU DON'T WANT. OR you could create another character, introduce yourself and never talk to them again. I think you delete that character when they move out. Good luck!!

WarriorD is right, I'm very positive whoever leaves is decided randomly by the game. Maybe it was possible to pick your victims in previous Animal Crossing installments, but not in New Leaf.

It's completely random, but you have to build up your friendship with them.
And it could either take a long time, or very quickly (Uchi villagers tends to leave out the quickest).

Been trying to max talk with Bella and Wart Jr. as much as I can, and what happens? Either Ken or Broccolo tell me about leaving (which I refuse both of them to leave). Its funny how I try to get some villagers out, yet my favorites tell me about moving out.
