I do think the plaza could be better but i don't mind it too much i guess...
One time, some of my villagers were having a barbecue or sunbathing wearing sunglasses which i thought was really cute at the plaza so I forgive them for making the plaza uncustomizable, unmovable, etc
There are times when I want to be able to change the floor of the plaza to match the other available path styles and I remember that for some reason, Nintendo decided to not allow such thing do be done.
I do understand why they don't want us to place things there, and honestly, the island is big enough to accommodate lots of external furniture, but I would really like it we could change the plaza's floor.
i just wanna move that thing so frickin bad oh my god just let me move it please i can move every other building but THAT one????????? thats some bull! :/
Plaza is pretty fine for me, but i do agree with your points. I don't really mind with the brick on the plaza. I even like it since i use brick path as well and it fits with my island aesthetics lol
i wish you could customise it like how you can customise the campsite area in PC! i really expected that you’d be able to when i first started, and that you’d be able to move it. i cleared a lot of my island recently and i realised i prefer the less decorated early game look, but it makes the plaza hard to deal with visually.
Still holding onto hope that the plaza will be customizable in future updates. I’m not the biggest fan of the space either. I’m kinda used to the ”NPCs plopping their stalls” on the plaza format now. It’s not my favourite way to bring shop keepers into town but what else is there to do with that big space? I think KK’s set up is unnecessarily big. I hate how his seat is right up where the entrance is. The seating arrangement shouldn’t be in a circle but maybe in rows or something? we don’t even sit on the chairs when he sings lmao. That said, the New Leaf tree plaza also felt like a giant waste of space so this is kind of similar to that I suppose.
There needs to be a central point in the game but I agree it could be done a lot better. Something with more functions and customisation would be great. For it's large size and lack of flexibility in design it isn't very well justified but hopefully at some stage it will become of more use.
Why, of all things did they go with orange bricks for the pavement? It matches with nothing, unlike the gray cobblestone from past games. It's a really wierd design-choice, imo.
I don't mind the plaza too much. Only things that bother me are 1) how we do not get a matching default tile set when in building mode. And 2) how villagers completely disregard placed items (even nook mile items like the teacup ride) and never really interact with them. I built a sweet little playground and an outdoor cafe but the villagers never interact with any furniture/items. They have cute interactions in the mobile game which is very popular so I hope it gets added in the next animal crossing game. It would make the game livelier and add so much. But oh well^^
I'm pretty neutral about it. One thing that bothers me is that you can't drop stuff around the plaza. It's understandable if there's something going on there at the moment, but decorating the area a little bit is nice if the space is free.
Idk it's never really bothered me. I do miss being able to customise though, like you eventually could in New Leaf. I think its cute how a lot of your villagers will usually gather there and do cute things. That for me, makes it more bearable.
I agree that some of the NPCs would be better in shops. Label and Kicks could have rooms off of Ables, so all the clothing stuff would be together. Not sure if Leif really needs a shop all the time, but maybe having a rotating area inside Nook's Cranny for Leif and Saharah to rotate would work. CJ, Flick, and Daisy Mae make more sense roaming, and Gulliver/Gullivarr is a case unto himself.
As for K.K. Slider, I like having him on the plaza. It is a definite reference to his days in ACGC, when he played in front of the train tracks. Maybe moving him a couple steps from the door to RS would be nice, but having him get back to his roots is nice.
It is incredible what people will find to complain about in this game. What will next week bring? “Does anyone else hate that the recycling box is yellow? We should be able to customize the lid! Shame on you, Nintendo!”
Buddy, you gotta realize these npcs not having stores is a good thing as most peoppe wouldnt want so many buildings around their island. In new leaf legit everything was placed in a seperate location. I feel like this is obvious and anyone that argues about buildings needs to re educate themselves about the previous versions. I personally wouldnt have space for more buildings as it would ruin layouts and so do the majority of people. Feels like ac fanbase isnt happy with anything nowadays
plaza being the way it is doesn't bother me as much but i also wish it could be cusomizable. hopefully, they will add it into the game sometime later because it was a thing in new lealf. what i’m actually a bit disappointed by is how it’s impossible to move plaza around our island in the same way it’s possible to do with other buildings.
ngl, kk slider being apparently so popular but getting nothing but a stool on our islands every saturday is kinda funny to me. i sorta wish he had his space of his own somewhere else as well because him taking so much space on the plaza every saturday drives me bonkers.
I'm mostly indifferent to the plaza and how it works. It would be awfully nice if we could customize the brick and roof colours and even better if they let us move it -- like all other buildings in the game. However, I do strongly agree with OP and others in that I wish K.K. Slider didn't take up space in the plaza on Saturdays.
I appreciate the plaza as like, a hub for your island, it's useful for when you're looking for your villagers too, but I do agree I'd like if you could customise the brick colour. It really doesn't fit my planned aesthetic,,,
I don't want new shops or buildings though! The one exception is the Roost, which I would make room for because Brewster deserves it and everyone loves a coffee shop. I've already had enough trouble trying to figure out how I'm gonna place the two shops and the museum. If they were to become permanent characters, NPCs like Leif could easily just move into Nook's Cranny rather than getting their own shop, same with Kicks and the Able Sisters.
Speaking of K.K., I just realized yesterday how much space he and the chairs actually taking away from the plaza, more importantly the fact that he has to sit right in front of the RS door. I ignored K.K. for a while now, hence why I didn't paid so much attention to this. However, yesterday I had to run over to the RS a few times to order items and I always end up getting stuck in the chairs. Can he please move his chair at least a bit so that you don't automatically run into him once you exit the RS?
