the pink hydrangea is purple..change my mind

They are purple but tbh I'm not complaining at all because I absolutely LOVE purple! If we had purple hydrangeas in NL I would have gone crazy with them!

They match the blue and purple windflowers very nicely, I've been using them around my fountain in my town!

EDIT: I looked through a few of my NL screenshots and this is the best pic of the pink hydrangeas that I could find:

They're definitely pink in NL, and they're definitely *not* pink in NH. I'm not bothered either way.

This was likely an issue of the word purple being too long, or they made a mistake in the localization because if you play the game in Japanese they're called purple azaleas. Can't speak for other languages but I'm guessing its the same.

And I love thats they're giving us more color options with the bushes! I can't have pink bushes everywhere haha. But I hope they make one with green flowers like the mums

I’m kind of happy they aren't actually pink, but I just wish it wasn’t so vibrant.

There needs to be a variety in colors for bushes, more than half are red and pink. :/

These are def purple. Honestly, some pink hydrangeas are a pastely pink, if we're talkin real world colouring. I'm sure people can produce bold pink hydrangeas, but these are without a doubt, purple.

Although I love purple things, I really wish these weren't purple. Each bush to me has a theme, both azalea and camellia are more Asian themed in my mind, I associate them with Asian culture so I can't imagine planting them in a normal everyday area. The only way camellias get away with this is because they bloom in the winter. I think of hydrangeas as the everyday casual bush, I can plant it anywhere and it can go with most casual themes. But to call them pink is a blant lie.

yes i've seen them irl and they are more commonly pastel.
ugh i can't wait for camellia season. the BEST looking just from the icon itself.

Hydrangea got a mega downgrade in appearance from New Leaf.
I high key regret using them to decorate around my home. They look awful. I miss the way they were in New Leaf.

They definitely look more purple than they do pink.

Definitely purple. I preferred the azaleas overall, but would rather replace than leave the shrubs unbloomed (and do like how it’s a symbol of the current season!) I may look to substitute my cherry blossoms lanterns though if I can find something that fits better with the hydrangeas and time of year...

Um... yeah. It is very, very purple. Just look at the screenshot at the start of the thread, the player also has purple mums in their inventory and the hydrangeas are almost the same shade as the mums! They are too garish for me honestly, but it's nice to have some color variety. Tbh I blocked it out of my mind that the game calls them "pink" until I saw this thread

I am confused by all the people saying they were surprised when the hydrangeas bloomed, though. Doesn't it show you what they'll look like blooming when you buy them from Lief...?

Lol I got mega confused when I dug one up and it said pink...I thought they were supposed to be purple?? They look pretty purple to me too
I remember for sure they were blue and pink in NL. I still think they look amazing tho.

Okay so I bought them from Leif, planted them, and then when they bloomed a couple days later completely forget they were supposed to be pink cause they are 100% purple. I actually don't mind though, they're pretty and they remind me of the ones in my backyard!
