For reference I was given a warn just for ONE post in there that was spam.

Most staff always say post maturely, but I find it hard to post maturely when there is nothing mature to talk about. Yes most serious debates get locked. But I sort of find that our faults because they get out of hand. We need more freedom to talk more maturely or TBT will never change.

I can sort of see where you're coming from, but you kind of confused me with your statement.

We DO have freedom to talk maturely on TBT, and many actually do. And if you really do want to talk maturely, then go ahead and create a serious thread, no one will stop you unless it gets out of hand, and if it's our faults for getting them closed, then people need to think about that before they make ignorant statements which cause flamewars to break out in the first place. I certainly don't think it's because of our lack of "freedom" unless you think politics and religion are the only topic which can be serious.

So If I talk about what college I want to go to, or what courses I'm taking, It's political? And by local news, that could simply be things that are going on in and around your town, such as events that are taking place, which you would like to discuss with others. I was unaware that was politics, and if I recall, Storm said he'd allow light politics. And as I've said in the other thread, (which is just us having another conversation


) sports can result in some serious topics as long as ignorant statements are not made.

So that's 3.

Add in technology which I don't think breaks any rules, sciences such as chemistry and the such should be allowed, and I'm sure history or geography could always bring some serious debate/conversations as well.

There seriously needs to be less rules on what we can and cannot talk about. The staff seriously went overboard with them. There needs to be less restictions. I'll give anyone a 100 bells if they show me a serious topic that isn't locked.

It just depends on the actual topic itself. You can talk about education without it even touching anything political.

As for whoever mentioned light politics there are certain policies that Storm has for what's allowed, and what isn't allowed. You'd have to ask him about them I suppose.

Sorry about that JJ, I misread Storm's post, this is the quote:

"The boards have to follow the rules still. Serious discussion is fine as long as it's not religion / heavy politics."

So I would assume the opposite of heavy politics would be light politics, correct me if I'm wrong. Or at least that's what I interpreted from it...
