Green Star Fragment
The other day my sister asked me to sell her THIRTY iron nuggets (to build Nook's Cranny) for 500 Bells 😭
"Absolutely not."
"Why?! How about... 2,000?"
The way she said 2,000 was like she was giving me a really good deal. I still cannot get over this.
Also, I saw someone try to sell someone wishlist items (like 5 or 6 pieces of common clothing you can get from the Able Sisters, stuff that would usually go for around 15-20 TBT) for A HUNDRED TBT!
People also tend to overcharge on things using NMTS, from what I've seen

I'm really bad at pricing just prefer to trade for this reason.

I've had two instances of where I thought the person gave too much to me.
* The first one was trading for art and I had to ask them to cut their offer in half because it was too much!
* The second person wanted all my Aries fragments (only had 8) and some seasonal diy; they gave me two full inventories of items. It was scary.

ACNH: Hoarders Buried Alive is where I belong.

I'm really appreciative of the people's generosity but I've hit max on storage like 30 times, lol.

Hfhfjfjfjf people can be so nice but sometimes it just freaks me out. I've had to tell people "no, please, you can have this for free," like a billion times because they just keep asking "u sure i can't give u anything?"

Honestly, I do this with my close friends. When they order me something I really need, I tend to send them back A LOT OF BELLS. They always question it, but it's just because this is a game all about community. I like helping them out, and they like helping me out.

Also, why be the only rich person in a friend group when EVERYONE can be rich? ;)

First of all, prices cans vary a lot between different animal crossing communities.

Other communities I participate in value nmt and bells a lot more than here. If I get a low ball offer, depending on my mood I'll give them a value I'm looking for or I just say no thanks and leave it at that.

The worse offer I got was 1nmt for 3 flower wreath/crown diys. And then they offered 2 nmt for all three. I have no idea if they thought that was the market value or if they were trying to get steals from more inexperience traders. In these communities flower crowns or wreaths tend to go from 10-30nmt. If they make an offer in that range I tend to accept.

I also got 5nmt offer for both a moon and nova light diy.

I think I once saw someone newer to the forum offer 15 TBT for three apples. I was so shocked! I guess they either didn’t understand the value of a TBT or really needed some fruit. But the seller accepted the offer and I was like 😨

That is true, but there have also been times when I've been like... no, really. I DON'T need bells, I have way more than I need already, keep your bells please 😂

TBH, I tend to overoffer. Especially with TBT- I have no clue what it's worth and I have a good amount of it just from posting/chatting on here. I bought Sherb from someone the other day for 200 TBT. They haggled me down from 400 (like I said, I don't know values 😅) Now I realize I probably overpaid... but they were super sweet and trying to save up TBT, whereas I'm not, so I have absolutely no regrets! I'm glad I could help 'em out, and I've come to really love Sherb ☺

I was trying to buy a tall lantern DIY from someone (not here) and they linked their wishlist of like 20 items so I told them I could trade an item or 2 for it. They straight up wanted the entire wishlist for the DIY!! No thanks 😑

100TBT is overpriced, but so is 15-20 each. 1tbt = 1nmt = 99.000bells (for as far as I know). So even if it was 15tbt you pay almost 150.000 bells just for 1 piece of clothing which will maybe cost 2000 bells? Maybe 4000 bells. Doesn't matter; it's too much. But yes some users are like that and sometimes it gets accepted but most people will not agree.

Not everyone will indeed know the value of the tbt's and especcialy when you're new you need some help with pricing sometimes :) But also some people do not care much about their tbt's because in the end they are just some extra's you get for posting so it's kinda "free" ingame stuff. And if someone really wanted the apples as soon as possible they just pay for that even if there would be some people who gave apples away for free but were not there to react in time :)

And to react on the topic: I don't know which items. I think some villagers were really overpriced at a time like Judy for 800NMT's a while ago.
But with items... well maybe things like 5 tbt to just catalog items/clothing.

Speaking about cataloging. A while ago I wanted an item. Gave the person 3 of her wishlist items and instead of I could keep it (which was what I thought) it was just to catalog so that person asked it back. Just some item which you could order again so that was pretty expensive and lame haha. But well I didn't want to make a lot of trouble so I just left and ordered the item myself.

On Nookazon, you can offer on someone's wishlist item and I was making my list and this dude offering to give me 10 leo fragments. I ask him how much and he goes "100 nmt" I politely decline and he offers again and says "how about 90?"
like bruh

I had someone overoffer on a fishing rod stand through Nookazon. I was happy to accept 4 million bells for something I'd never use.
OH MY-
4 million?!
I did have someone offer 30 million for a moon chair diy I had a long time ago, and they actually weren't kidding and I had to make a lot of trips. I ended up asking if I could have only 15 million because 30 million is more than Raymond XD
They said sure and I only took 15 million. But bruh

Yep, some people just really want certain things. I mean, chances are good the bells were a product of duping, but whatever.

hmmm or just a lot of turnips. Even without time traveling it's easy to get a lot of millions so if you want an harder-to-get diy like the celeste diy's so you can immediately continue decorating it's easy to offer just a lot of bells. There's not much you can do with them after all unless there will be a mayor update later.

At the moment I paid off my house, paid with the same account for 2 other houses to be complete, a third extra house for all extra rooms except the top and cellar floors, another house with 1 big room (and maybe a shack at level 2 but not sure anymore) for my flowerfield. And I still have millions left :') So if I wanted a special diy and paid 30 millions I would still have millions left haha.

I don’t the value of TBTs.

I don’t handle them the way others do. For example: If you look below my avatar for what I have in items, I don’t have an accumulation as does numerous Bell Tree Forums members.

I suppose the biggest problem, for many, has to do with Nook Miles Tickets.

people charge like 60-100 nmt for mush diys and imo it’s crazy. sure, getting them is tedious and not possible yet unless you tt/are in southern hemisphere but still, that can buy you a tier one villager bro...

i keep NMT and TBT prices separate in my head, because they’re completely different markets, with a lot of the rarer collectibles being worth 10k+

most i got charged was probably 10nmt for a couple star frags.

least was... in the early days of the game, when i didn’t have a good grasp on the market or anything, I would just sell furniture for the catalog price... lol (and that’s selling, not drop trading)

I prefer to trade items rather than tbt or nmt as I don't really know the value either. Sometimes it just depends on what you feel something us worth to you(if you are buying I mean). Like I think 20 tbt for general diys is way too much(I've seen that on here). And nmt just takes way too long to get large amounts from the machine. Nookazon is where I really see the overpricing. Like 100+ nmt for 1 diy. And someone had a diy for sale(and presumably other items) because their posting said if you offer wishlist items you must off at least 2 if not more, items or dont make an offer. Really? I used nookazon recently to get the last crown/wreath diys i needed and i did all trades, 1 for 1. i traded 1 crown diy, 1 nook miles item i wasn't using and a few gulliver items i also wasn't using. To me those were fair trades. one rare thing for another rare thing.

I think it's gone down since then but I remember near launch when the NMT to bells ratio was 1:300k.

I always found it a teensy bit ridiculous to think one NMT was worth 300k bells when it took about 5 minutes or less of grinding to get 1 NMT.

I always offer to pay something, even with super cheap stuff, and people insist on giving it to me for free sometimes. I always feel kinda awkward but I'm grateful regardless and try to just play it cool 😎
