Why dont pets get more love? i love my pet octopus but i dont give him credit for being cool

I have a pet Nautilus named Sir Nathaniel, or Nate for short. He was the first Nautilus that I ever caught, and I screamed when I caught him since I didn't know any of the animals you could find while diving, and the Nautilus is one of my favorite animals.

Wait, I don't get this thread. When you said character, I thought you meant villager. I was gonna vent about poor Shep. I always dodged him, since his house was in front of mine and I didn't want to talk to him all the time. And I would always forget him, whenever I'd list my villagers. Anyway, eventually I let him move out, and he was so sweet, but I was soooooo mean to him really. I feel bad.

But anyway, if you mean pet as in, pet pet...I don't have any. XD I don't even like the villagers to have any in their homes. So I never give them fish/bugs. The only person who still has a fish in her house is Fuchsia, and I'm working on getting it replaced with some sort of furniture. She's being stubborn though.

Chester has a pet Tiger Butterfly that I caught for him ages ago. I'm pretty sure he's had it since last summer, and he hasn't given it up since! I believe its name is Li'l Tiger Butterfly, which is a little strange since one of the nicknames that my villagers frequently call me is Li'l G.

I'm thinking of getting a Gyroid as a pet at some point as well. I could take it and Nate the Nautilus out for walks together!
