Anyway, on topic... I can see the importance in most of the subjects... but the way most public schools teach them is horrible. I at least know that my brain was corrupted in History.
I find it ridiculous that you can't use books and calculators on tests, I mean once you get a job and stuff you can just pick up a book or a calculator.
You can use calculators in a lot of high school maths... Well I can't remember if we used them on tests in Algebra and Geometry (probably). But definitely Calculus.

That's the problem, they way public schools teach it. I don't know if all state have a state test, but I know for certain that Texas and Virginia does. The public schools teach practically everything you need to know for the test, and that's practically it.

Math is a very important subject, however, History is the least important. Schools teach it just so students can know it, history won't help you anywhere.

History can be helpful.... I think. Depends on how you use it. Plus, it has a way of repeating itself sometimes.

i think some things are important..
and some are not..
like im in geometry right now, and we have to learn how to find the lateral area and surface area of a cube and pyramids and stuff.
and i mean really, when am i gonna need that? or how to find a sector of a circle, or the arc?

I think math should be taught up to algebra in school, they can offer the other forms for students to take but not make them mandatory, or take them in college when they pertain to your major.

I lOVE HISTORY, and math is easy for me so i dont care. but i am not the best writer and english class is totally subjective, if your teacher doesnt like you, you basically dont get an A! i do really well on all of the tests about the books that we read but then i am not the best writer+ a teacher that favors other kids, i hate english class!
