Hey everyone,

I made a thread like this before but it is a bit old now and it's dead. So i decided to make a new one!
Just discuss about the game here or add each other to play online!

Actually i am looking for people to play with so please add me if you would like to play with me sometime!

I would join you, but I do not have Luigi's Mansion 2 yet. Giving you a free bump as I also do not want this thread to die from inactivity! ;)

I have the game but I stopped playing a while back because it just wasn't the same as the original and it kinda bummed me out :(

I want to try to pick it up again and start over though. If you were to recommend it to someone, what would you say? Just asking as maybe some motivation to keep playing it. :)

I've got a digital copy of the game but it's not on my memory card atm. I just don't have room for it. I really should upgrade to a bigger card.

It's a nice game though.

Luigi's Mansion is one of my favourite video games, but I felt like the sequel was lacking a lot of elements from the first game that made it so special. The first game just had a certain atmosphere to it. I remember being genuinely scared of going in new rooms when I was younger, 'cause those Purple Punchers scared the heck out of me. The portrait ghosts were really intriguing to me, though.

And then there's the theory that the Boos actually killed the family and took over the mansion, which is pretty dark. There's also an apparent glitch in one of the rooms where, when lightning strikes, there's a shadow of Luigi, looking as if he's hung himself. It's a very dark game, when you get past the basics. I loved that about it, and I felt like Luigi's Mansion 2 was lacking in that. The atmosphere was gone. I still thoroughly enjoyed it, but I can't compare it to the original.

Yeah that is true, Luigi's Mansion was much darker and that made it so memorable. When the power cut off in the first game and had to head down stairs i literally got scared at least 3 times of ghosts suddenly appearing (it still happens actually). The portrait ghosts really interested me, especially since they had little stories about their life before they actually became ghosts. Madame Clairvoya (did i remember and spell her name right? Lmao) is really interesting as well since she doesn't even like it to be in the mansion, she likes her peaceful portrait way better! Isn't that facinating?

I liked the sequel a lot too but it was clearly aimed for the younger audience while the first game was more mature.

That part still terrifies me, and that's coming from someone who has played a ton of horror games. Like, that's a perfect example of a sensation you don't get in the sequel. It's a lot more about combat and solving puzzles than it is about psychology and story, and that's a bit of a shame because it's an element I loved about the first game. Do you remember that ghost who walked the hall in search of his master's will, to see if he'd been put in it? That cracked me up.

Yes! As a little kid i never understood how i could capture him because when you first get to that hallway he is roaming around but there is now way to capture him. It creeped me out because the piano sounds just kept going whenever you got near him (that could be from Melody as well actually but i remember hearing the piano whenever that ghost was around).

Also, i remember everything from this game because i finished it like 6 times. I even got the A rank which is a pain since i have got the PAL version of the game.

I really like Dark Moon, especially Scarescraper, but unfortunately Scarescraper is broken for me. I cannot join any online scarescraper games at all. I've tried hosting them, but judging by the fact that no one ever joins no matter how long my game is open for, they may not be able to join my games either.

We can try to play together as friends?

Dark Moon was my first Luigi's Mansion game and I absolutely loved it. I felt like it had a lot of depth and things to discover. Although I have barely played the original so I wouldn't be able to compare. I believe I got to the part where you had to fight the baby and then died because there was no way to regain health or whatever so I just kinda quit.

I remember I got stuck on the ice boss of Dark Moon but after a recent second playthrough I was able to beat it and move on to the last mansion. Unfortunately I don't know where the game card went and I kinda want to play it now lol.

When it first came out all my friends were playing it so I decided to pick it up and we all did hour-long Scarescraper matches together. <3

Whoa you quit at Chauncey the baby already? That is at like 1/20 of the game...

Also i wish i could play online but always when i join a public scarescraper room i end up being the only player sfter about 3 to 6 floors. Which makes it impossible to get to the very last floor...

I plan on getting this game soon! When I do I'll be sure to hit you up for online play :P

Yay! That will be fun! You should finish the single player adventure thingy first though since it teaches you really important techniques which you sometimes NEED to know online, otherwise you might not even be able to progress. Not because of your skill level but because you have no idea what to do. Sucking up ghosts really isn't the only thing you need to master simply put haha!
