After picking up Eternal Sonata yesterday (most excellent title), I've realized that my fundage is now restricted to Wii points...and that's a very scary proposition...thankfully with Nov. 18th and Dec. 25th rolling right around, things are picking up hehe.

The importance of B-day and Xmas lists really become clear once you know what you want...the question is...are you going to get it? In my case, I've made sure that my wife and my family members understand I want one thing and one thing only....games. Whether that's the actual game itself OR giftcards to various retail outlets doesn't matter to me...I just want games.

Why you ask...oh man....here's a small sampling of "why":

Dewey's Adventure
Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire
Blastworks: Build, Fuse and Destroy
Zack and Wiki: The quest for Barbaro's Treasure (AWESOME)
Batallion Wars II
Endless Ocean
Guitar Hero III (360 version)
Manhunt 2 (possible...not sure on this one yet)
Ghost Squad
Super Mario Galaxy
NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams
Nitrobike (undecided on this one)
RE: UC
Link's Crossbow Training (YES, I'm getting this...now be quiet ;))
Soulcalibur Legends (undecided)
Mario and Sonic at Olympic Games
SSBB (Definite pickup with online mode now)
Skate
Halo 3
Call of Duty 4 (Holy crap...awesome!)
Lego Star Wars: The complete Saga (360 version)
Assassin's Creed
Mass Effect
Rock Band (unsure of at this point)

EDIT: Of course...how could I forget LoZ: PH...that one too

;)

So this puts me at well over my budget for games of course...and I know I'll be lucky to pick up more than 5 of the above titles on Bday and Xmas lists alone...but you can't cite me for lack of diversity for sure hehe.

Hey Papa, why did you choose the 360 version of Lego Star Wars Complete saga over the Wii version? Just curious...
I'm not too entirely convinced the Wiimote is going to make this game any better than what's on the 360 or PS3. So with that coupled with me being "somewhat" of a graphics "you know what"...I decided that I'll pick up the 360 version...unless it receives RAVE reviews on the Wii and the 360 doesn't...then I might change my mind.

Thats cool. My list is mostly all gaming too. The one exception is I would love to get one of those Transformer Soundwave MP3 players, they look soooooooo awesome.

Ahh...These 2 days are very important to me right now as well. My birthday being almost exactly one month after Xmas, I tend to get a few more games then because of after Xmas sales. However, my list is getting longer and longer (and I don't even have a PS360). My wife hates that all I ever want for Xmas and B-days are games and movies, but most of the time she complies (although I usually get a few things unasked for).

This year may really suck though, because we are trying to get out of some debt and all extra monies are going to that. Even though we have a budget for Xmas and B-day gifts for us and family, it never seems like enough. I am starting a 2nd job next week delivering pizzas 2 days a week (use to do it full time) so possibly, just possibly, I'll have a few extra bucks a month to get my fix.

BTW Papa, my wedding anniversary is Nov 18.

Whoa, what?! I haven't seen that, but it sounds awesome!!! Link? Too bad Soundwave wasn't in the movie (at least I don't think the little boombox was him, anyway) ... He was one of my favorites. I suppose a tape player isn't really up-to-date, though.

Back on topic, though, I'm in the exact same boat. I can usually pick up a game here and there, but the next couple of months are going to be brutal as there's no way I'm going to be able to get everything I'd be interested in. My birthday is about a month after X-Mas, too, so that's helpful. Like Demise, I usually get a roll of the eyes when I say all I really want is games.

:)

Some I'm looking forward to:
Phantom Hourglass
Battalion Wars II
Guitar Hero III
Zack and Wiki (point-and-click yes!)
Brawl
Manhunt 2 (possibly)
NiGHTS (loved the original)

I think there's a few more DS games that looked interesting, too, that I can't recall at the moment. Too many games!!

:)

@amarriner: That link shows the MP3 Soundwave, sooo cooool!

I usually only ask for games, movies, or gift cards but like you guys I get the occasional rolled eye or the unasked for gift (like aftershave). But the way I look at it I'm pretty low maintenance, I don't have an expensive hobby like golf or restoring classic cars. Gaming is pretty cheap next to those.

Two things wrong with that list, Papa.

-No Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.
-Lack of Ninja Gaiden: DS.

@SD-o:
That is, quite possibly, the coolest thing I have ever seen!

:) Must ... have ... transformer ... MP3 ... player. It actually plays MP3s and transforms?! Sooo cool.

@Bulerias:
Oh man, I forgot about FE. Man throw another on the list!

Hey, guys, I just saw something online that might ease the pain on your wallet. Toys 'R Us has a couple of deals for this week: a "Buy two games and get one free, for selected games" deal, and "Buy one accessory and get the second one for half the price" deal. What's best is that the Wii Points Cards are considered accessories.

P.S.: I don't know If I'm breaking a rule by posting this, but if I am, feel free to delete this post or move it to the appropriate place.

That link has more views of the MP3 Soundwave. That has to be the most genius idea ever to combine Soundwave and MP3s the only downfall is you have to buy a separate SD card to store the songs on (and then load it into his casette door!) They also sell an accesory that is little Rumble and Frenzy headphones but they don't look so hot.

@Infinity: That is awesome news I really need to see if my local TRU has that deal going! I could really knock a few things off the list with that kind of sale.

Also, wanted to point out what I'm getting out of your list.

Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire (huge maybe)
Zack and Wiki: The quest for Barbaro's Treasure
Battalion Wars II
Super Mario Galaxy
NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams
SSBB

Note that I've only got a Wii as of right now, and also note that I'm getting a bunch of other titles not on this list, like Radiant Dawn.

My list is probably the shortest here:

SSBB
Super Mario Galaxy
LoZ:PH
And there is one more... The title escapes me at the moment.

Also seriously considering:

FE:Radiant Dawn
Dewey's Adventure

You'll notice they're all Wii and DS games for the sole reason that my parents have strict limitations to how many new video game systems I can buy:
1. One console per "generation"
2. One handheld every 2 or 3 years

And Papa, I must agree, that list is quite diverse.

My Birthday is two days right after Christmas so that kind of sucks but oh well and here is what I want.

Super Mario Galaxy
NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams (Maybe)
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games (Possibly)
MySims (Maybe)
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (Maybe)

That's all that I can think of

(Btw I am getting Super Smash Bro. Brawl however before Christmas on the day it comes out, I preordered it)

My list

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams (Unless my brother gets it)
Ace Attorney 3
Radiance Dawn
SSBB('course, my brother's prolly getting this one too)

Yeah, that's it.I'll probably end up asking for just two ^^; All I want besides that is an iPod and some drawing chalk, but I might actually be able to buy those myself.

I am near tears of joy with all the overflowing Fire Emblem love... makes me want to go beat all the Fire Emblem games all over again. <3 I might as well, since I started the umpteenth playthrough of Path of Radiance...

My birthday is in a week and a half, and the only thing I asked for was a 2-Disc Sleeping Beauty DVD... <.<;

Should I ask for any games?
