So ever since I've obtained all my dreamies, I've been super worried that they might move out on me. I seriously had a dream/nightmare last night that Fang moved out and I had to do another 16 villager cycle for him.

Also after playing for a few days and if no one has ping'd me to move out, I get paranoid and talk to everyone even more than I would normally.

This game is evil~

(might need to take a break)

I find myself doing the same thing....lately mine ping every other day, the other day I had two back to back. I was like what the heck is going on? So now I am afraid that if I don't check in every day one will move.

The same thing has happened to. I dreamt that Fauna moved out and I was so bummed out but I don't even have her in my town, but I'm planning on having her in my second town, so that may be the reason for my dream. I've also gotten paranoid when days have passed and no one has pinged me about moving out but thankfully everything has been good.

Mine ping every other day, it's rather annoying now that I want to keep em all. I wish there was some way to make the game stop them from pinging all the damn time to move out, and I wish friendship actually mattered in the whole who moves out process and super good friends would ping much less or something like that.

I don't have all of my dreamies yet, but I definitely talk to the ones I do have more often than the other villagers. I talked to Zell so much, he asked to move out a few days ago. I could have cried :(

I've had a dreamie ping me once and I accidentally said goodbye. Well they all of a sudden got worried about me and said they would stay haha! It was kind of lucky :P

I find it strange that I have never had any dreams about the game, at least not that I can remember,
even though I usually played it before bedtime.

Guess in my case, "the thrill is in the chase, and never the capture". ^^;;

With all my favorite villagers obtained, and town *somewhat* established,
I find myself visiting it briefly every other day, and always starting with the day I was last there,
just to be certain I have 'neutralized all the moving threats' lol.

If you have the gut feeling that you have been "ping-less" for a long time, do the new file trick and go forward like 7 days to see if anyone has moved out.

I feel like if there hasn't been a move out in a long time, the game takes it upon itself to "surprise" you with a move out? I don't tt (usually), and am very diligent about talking to all villagers diligently, and one time, I was STILL surprised to have Tia move out. No other villager warned me either.

These days, if I get that sinking feeling, hey, no one has pinged me in a while, I go forward 7 days and do a new save file, and most of the time (not all the time), someone's house is gone. When I come to real time, of course, that villager pings me to move.

It is terrifying to go days without a ping! I'm so grateful when I get a ping every day or even every other day! I'm even considering tearing down one of my 4 houses just so I can start up with a new file on some of those days:)

I used to do this when I had 3 chars but the thing is... i have 4 chars now and their lockers are filled with items/sets/dlcs that I plan on using/selling.

If you buy an action replay/powersave you can just back up your corrent game file, protecting it from future corrupting and if a dreamie moves, you can just restore the backup, as if it never happend c: and you can stop them before hand.

I never seem to get pings >.< the most frustrating of which was Tangy who never pinged and moved out. I was SUPER bummed over that. It's amazing how attached one can become to an animated character! I've been kind of lucky with my dreamies though, especially since I have a ton (not all are listed in my sig) and I'm cool with having one or two villagers that aren't my favorites just so I can experience something different in the game. It would be boring for me if it was all the same villagers forever, but I know some people really like that style.

I get really paranoid about it too, even when I know for sure I'm moving forward onto a safe day.

When I have four characters I'll probably just go forward with the 3DS clock and watch the title screen to figure out who if anyone wants to move.

This game is evil and I'm currently doing what you're doing D; except I've managed to get people to ping and I say no... It scares me if I don't play.

Agreed!!! This JUST happened to me. I finally get my town the way I want it, and Francine was in boxes. I moved her to my cycle town, AGAIN, and now I've got to kick marshal to the same town so I can cycle with 2 spots. I'm giving up on a permanent 4th character. As soon as I get his house paid off it seems someone moves. I talk to my villagers everyday so this sux!!! Well at least now I can move marshal down one spot so his house placement will be closer to matching the one on the other side. I have the 8 in between in all in a perfect row with the 2 spaces in between each one.

When you cycle enough you come to have a pretty good knowledge of how this game works as far as villagers moving goes. The game chooses a random mover roughly every 3-4 days, and the mover will always go into boxes exactly 5 days after they choose to move. It gives you a pretty big window to prevent **** ups.

It's also really good to keep one save file available to check for boxed up villagers if you haven't played for more than a week, allowing you to TT back to a state before they wanted to move.

One time I told a villager yes he could move...then later regretted it, so I wrote him a letter asking him not to, that I would miss him...next day he told me he was not moving.

If I am reading this correctly....for example, are you saying that say you played the game on Jan 1st, then the next time you played was Jan 3rd, but when you log in you change the date to say Jan 2nd?

I have been thinking of doing the same thing, I currently have 4 homes, so I cannot do the "new file" trick. Thing is I like all 4 houses, and having 4 helps with having enough space for all the hard to find sets, items etc and have them on display.

Quite right - since I do not play in real time (my main town is in July now),
so I made a note that the last time I played was July 8th, 2014. Three days later, I logged back in as Mayor,
and change the date with Isabelle back to July 8th, 2014. That way, I feel more comfortable backtracking, in case I miss anything, *then* I proceed to TT to the next new day. I do not change the 3DS clock, just the one with Isabelle though.

This game IS evil! This is exactly what I do also ... Even playing way late in an effort to talk to all my peeps, get all the gossip and find out if someone is planning on leaving! I often get the exasperated message that my villager wants some alone time after I have questioned them repeatedly! Lol ... But take a break? Never! Well, not just yet, anyways!
