The game was reset, but nothing was lost.

So earlier, I lost grip of my 3DS and it fell on the floor, which must have knocked the battery loose or something. When I picked it up and started my game again, I got the usual "You didn't save your game, so your progress was lost" thing. But when I started playing, everything I'd done was still there (flowers watered, errands complete, latest PWP paid in full, etc.)

Just wondering, has this ever happened to anyone else before?

(It was my 4th reset btw.)

You might have saved right before and you just didn't realize. Whenever you go to the island you save, Happy home showcase you save, dream suite you save, visiting or hosting you save. One of these things might have just been what you did and you forgot.
