I got the idea after seeing a lot of responses in my nook miles ticket rant thread. So many people have stated that they are so discouraged by the situation that they don't even want to participate in trades here. Would anyone be interested if I made a thread in the market boards where people are offering services for free? (Come buy my native flowers in my shop for free) (I'm happy to craft sakura recipes for free if you bring the materials) etc. I could basically make a list of members on the first post and what services they are offering. Then people could just send you guys a PM and you could arrange a time to have them come visit. I wasn't sure if I should post this at all. Part of me thinks it's a waste and that it would be better if people just made their own separate threads if/when they are offering certain things for free, but maybe this could be good too? If someone is too intimidated to even browse the threads there, they could simply visit the one thread I may make and see if anyone is offering the services they require? But I wanted to get some feedback first before diving into that >.< Just trying to help with that crazy situation a little.

I would check with staff to see if a thread like that would even be allowed in the first place, just in case. I'm personally against NMT trades, but I've been making threads and I've strictly been stating I will only trade with IGBs.

I can see no reason why that wouldn’t be allowed?
If people can charge exorbitant prices for questionably legitimate items, there’s no way offering free services should be forbidden by staff.

I would happily be included in one of those threads. I love helping people by opening my island for shopping and by building things for people. I don't usually feel the need to charge for my services, although I may ask for materials to craft things. I am also happy to order things for people at catalogue price.
I am terrible at calculating prices, and I am usually a big softie, so it's easier to pass on the kindness that I have been shown by the community in past years, and just give away or trade duplicate items, fossils and recipes.
I don't judge people who want to charge for their time in order to progress their game. I would just usually prefer to grind by fishing, and take the odd commission for fun.

It's not the free services that might be the problem, it's the thread itself.
I don't know whats allowed, it's a neat idea but I don't know if I would personally want to search a whole thread for things.
I have seen people offer free services in their own threads on The Airport and such, I prefer that a bit more myself.
That is just me though!

At the moment, as I'm in the process of finishing terraforming/moving buildings and trees, I haven't been able to gather materials or even craft much stuff. I'm also not even popping balloons very frequently because I've been busy.
But I already have a decent amount of DIY recipes I could craft for free if people bring the materials. I would also allow people to come to my island free of charge to buy flower seeds, visit Celeste/CJ/Flick, shop at Able Sisters and Nook's Cranny.
The only thing I would charge for is the different color variations of items that can be bought exclusively with nook miles, like the Kaiju, the giant robot, etc. But I would honestly prefer IGB than tickets.
As for trading, I would be ok to trade recipe for recipe, item for item of the same type (clothing, furniture, flooring/wallpaper).
The only thing I wouldn't allow to anyone would be to talk to the villagers.

Do you have other things on that set? I'm in the southern hemisphere so there's no Sakura items/recipes for me. I do have some recipes for autumn items, but I can't believe how hard it is to find some materials like acorns and line cones to craft them.
I love this idea. I am also a big softie and have not adapted to the idea of charging people. It’s not something that my close friends on here did during ACNL, so I have been a little taken aback by the all the hidden fees people want.

I think your idea has a lot of merit.
The current economy here is pretty exclusionary to people playing the game at their own pace/without amiibo cards/etc. I'm sure there's also plenty of casual traders here who don't really have a use for hundreds of thousands of nook tickets. This could help people out, definitely. I wonder if there's a way to target these services specifically towards people who couldn't afford them otherwise?

Our group could be called "The Economy Crashers" lol. The whole idea is to take this artificially inflated economy and bring it to the ground, making people actually do fair trading and having a sense of community - which is the point of animal crossing, as t always was since it's inception.
Players helping each other make for a better community than a bunch of Warren Buffet wannabes.

I really like this idea and would love to be part of it. I am able to craft quite a bit of DIY if materials are provided. I would also love doing regular furniture/clothing/etc cataloging so that we all are able to order or help others out if they’re looking for certain items and not expecting double the price for it when it is later resold.
