Allow me to introduce you to Dora. The amount of times I recall seeing someone talk about Dora without me bringing her up is literally one. She seems like one of those villagers a lot of people just don't know exist, since her design is simple and cute, two qualities that are common among popular villagers. She would be great as a neighbor for all the Marshal fans out there.

So happy to see this thread come around again, because I think I’m unexpectedly coming to love a relatively unpopular villager again. After swearing off cranky villagers altogether, and even passing up little Hamphrey, who I though of all of them I might like, among about a dozen others while island hopping lately, this guy showed up at my campsite:
Once I get some picture uploaded I will update this because it does not do him justice!
I’m very free about inviting people from the campsite and I’ve gotten a lot of villagers that way, partly just because them being in my campsite automatically makes me more curious about/ interested in them, and partly because I have been trying to experience having a lot of different villagers before I get to a point where it is hard for me to let anyone go.
so I invited him mostly because I have a weird love for the bear villagers, thinking worse came to worse I’d just let him leave ASAP, not looking forward to having a cranky again...
Guys, I am starting to really love him. He just looks so cuddly and cute (esp in the sweater I gave him) he’s so fluffy looking and I love watching him check out the flowers.
and...now for the first time I regret something from an older game not being in this one. I mostly think of my villagers as childlike and therefore don’t think of them having romantic relationships and kids and what not. But I kinda wish Poko was in this game so I could have the duo
anyway, I don’t know what it is about him but he’s just so cuddly! If you haven’t checked out the cranky bears, they are some great options.

they’re all overshadowed by the Cubs, but there are some really good designs for the bears!

I really like the cub base design, but I haven’t found one that really excites me. Of course, that’s what I would have said about Ike and the cranky bears, so...I guess you don’t really know until you try them out. I might give Judy a try at some point, if I come across her.
Meet Spike: the rhino sho calls everyone punk
he showed up in my campsite one day and I got him to move in even though I wasn't interested in rhinos at all in the game. He's a really charming grumpy and looks/talks like a mafia retiree - his house looks the part too (images not mine)

I love Dora! I had her in my town in NL and she's so great. She's very, very cute and I like her simple design, plus a lot of outfits look good on her. I think the reason she's not very popular might be that many people seem to dislike the mouse villagers but she's too underrated!
Even though I don't have her anymore, Mallary is one of the most underrated/unknown villagers in the game. I frequently see her in the bottom 15 of NH villagers and, at least in my opinion, she's utter royalty and a GREAT snooty to have for anyone looking for a villager that embodies that snooty personality, as she is showing off quite well in this picture.
Also, I want to include Sparro and Tex in here as well, as I personally had no opinions of either of them going into NH and now I never want to let them go. Sparro and me watching butterflies while Tex is busy side-eying me with his ladder shades and shell tiara<3
I want you all to spend some time getting to know Cleo. She a real darlin'. This photo is slightly outdated, she dresses way better in New Horizons, but I needes to share this picture of her T- Posing so you'd all understand just how powerful she really is.

She really is cute! I am sad that I paid no attention to her in NL (in fact I thought for awhile she was one of the new villagers) and even in NH, sometime after seeing a friend on twitter post a picture of her, I still paid no attention to her even though she did look cute in the screenshots my friend took. It’s good to see more people posting pictures of her
; better late than never to realize how cute she is.I'm a bit biased because I met her back in the gamecube days and as a child, horses were my favorite animal. Since then though, my affection for this little digital horse has been based entirely off of positive interactions, nostalgia, and her cute design. I'm more of a cat person now and have been for years but she'll always be special to me!She really is cute! There’s so many great designs for the female horses!I'm a bit biased because I met her back in the gamecube days and as a child, horses were my favorite animal. Since then though, my affection for this little digital horse has been based entirely off of positive interactions, nostalgia, and her cute design. I'm more of a cat person now and have been for years but she'll always be special to me!

Hope it is okay to bring this around again, but I really love Weber and this seemed like the best place to post about how much I adore him 
I can’t even fully explain it, but this little guy just tugs at all my heart strings. The lazy dialogue I get from him is just the sweetest, or just seems sweeter somehow coming from him.
So yeah, anyway, he’s my reps little boyfriend now, which is very silly to say, but
Side note, she does not deserve to be overshadowed like this but Deena is another underrated star
(sorry for all the dialogue screenshots, idk why but I take most of my photos while talking to my villagers, just cause I love talking to them and they look so cute while they are animated)

I want to give special mention to Sheldon
Hes one of the most adorable villagers in the game and I don't get why he's not popular.
Hes so cute and I love him so much.
But the main villager I want to draw attention to is Megan
She is the only normal villager I've liked in the game. And it's not even a case of like. It's love.
She is one of my absolute favourite villagers now and I never want to play without her around.
I feel She is very over shadowed by the likes of Raymond and sherb. They all got added to the game together but you hardly ever see an island with Megan.
If you ever get the chance, I fully recommend having her. She both changed my opinion on the normal personality, and about bears as a species.
