So February is the last month to catch this I believe and time is running out! I'm still yet to find one and panicking slightly... Does anyone have any tips they could share in order to hunt this fish down? Where were you/what time was it when you caught yours?

I forgot about this one!

Thanks for reminding me.

The stringfish can be caught around 4am to 9am and 4pm to 4am. I walked along the river and when I reached the end of it, hit save and continue to reset the fish. Rinse and repeat until you see the huge shadow.

I'm not panicking :3 *can TT to any season anytime on 2nd town for my main character to bug hunt/catch fish*< wasn't tryna be boastful here< but I guess that's what it'll come across as xD - I haven't caught one either since I'm too busy landscaping :(

Yeah I caught one yesterday around 5pm. It should be the only thing in the river with a really huge shadow around this time of year (think tuna or marlin sized). If you're going hunting for one, it also can't hurt to be wearing lucky items like the celebration hat too! I didn't seek out my stringfish, but when I wanted an oarfish and went looking for one while wearing the hat, it showed up within 5 minutes for me.

Yeah, like everyone else said, just walk along the river. I usually run to scare away smaller fish so the stringfish has room to spawn. :) You gotta be careful though cause you could accidentally scare away the stringfish as well :x (I did that like twice before I caught it.)

Saving to reset is quite a good tip Silvery, I've been getting bored running back and forth to scare the wrong fish away.
