I would assume if you invite the camper that you won’t get moving dialogue to invite the villager from your friend’s island, and vice versa. The villager wouldn’t actually move in until after the camper is gone. I would also assume if that villager has taken the plot, you can’t invite them by amiibo but I haven’t tried it.

That’s interesting, now I want to know. I also want to know what happens if you invite an amiibo camper when you have a natural camper.
Oh I tried that, the amibo replaces the camper originally in the tent

I would assume you either can’t or the amiibo replaces the camper, but the camper still counts in the cycle of camper villagers. So many things that I hope others will test out because I don’t feel like it

Ninji actually tried to make this happen. Not the NPCs, but he replaced all his villagers with Raymond. Spoiler alert, 9 of the 10 Raymonds skipped town. Only one can remain. Presumably the strongest one.
