no, that's correct. there's another recipe for "scattered papers" where you can convert the document stack NC item.
the document stack DIY is to convert it back.

It's strange that the document stack is both a shop item and a craftable item, but if you want to quickly get the DIY furniture NM goals, you can just keep crafting scattered papers from a document stack and vice-versa back and forth.
