I don’t pay attention to what Isabelle says anymore and I doubt I would either way to be honest. I don’t mind her announcements, I just don’t have time for that.
I think it's fine that she does the announcements everyday and news of which NPCs are visiting would be super helpful.
The personal stories are fine for me, I just wish that she had more variety than the 5-6 that she does have. I think there would be less problems if Isabelle didn't constantly talk about her lost sock and instead has more varied stories.
This same thing bothered me in Splatoon as well; they always announced the current map, which at first was cool but like you quickly went to a match and would see the map so it just made logging in become longer than necessary.
Really wish we could have a skip or fast forward option for dialogue; I'd be okay hearing about Isabelle's tv show she watched last night for the 50th time if we could speed it up a bit. I actually avoid Gulivar sometimes, because I can't be bothered with the same 30+ texts I can't skip/fast forward.
Gosh, my thoughts exactly one this one. I despise Isabelle in every way unless there's a gosh darn camper or a star shower. It would actually be pretty helpful is she said stuff about what's going on around the island, like you said maybe the NPC stuff like Gullivarrrr being there would be epic, but also perhaps crap like new fish and bugs in season, a pretty purple flower that bloomed even; ANYTHING BESIDES HER TV HABITS. I'M SORRY ISABELLE BUT U HAVE NO PLACE IN THIS GAME XD
They should let us hit the - button to skip her scene like you can when the game starts up for the first time. Most of the time she never has anything worthwhile to say. Like maybe skip will show up if she has nothing to really say or give us a DIY and if she does the skip option won't be available.
But how useful would a weather report actually be? I feel like the weather changes too often in a day for her to explain it all, which may end up being more dialogue than her little stories
I really wish she would have more useful dialogue too ugg. Like tell us the weather for the day, what npc is visiting, new/interesting facts about the game after updates, etc. The off the hook girls for splatoon were really wordy but at least what they said was useful, entertaining, and new almost every time. I never want to hear anyone mention a missing sock ever again.
As everyone else has said, her dialogue really should be more useful. Even silly quips on the weather would be nice. It's way too repetitive and just ends up annoying me. Like others said, I don't need to hear about the game show she watched or whatever, lol.
I feel like her lack of varied dialogue is pretty par for this game though. Regular villagers have pretty repetitive dialogue too, so the dialogue in general could stand to be expanded, but Isabelle's most of all. Of course it's possible, and I know that the game devs do a lot and I hate to complain, but they really could stand to upgrade it.
Announcing weather is such a good idea oh my god, that would be super fun for pure immersion reasons. But i agree it’s getting old FAST and changing would be great
I wonder how much loading the game is doing while she's talking, and if this rambling is a way to keep the loading screen from being even longer. That would be the smart thing to do.
She could definitely use some more interesting stuff to announce in any case... We might as well be staring at a loading screen at this point
Isabelle needs to stop talking about her lost socks or tv shows.
She should announce more important topics such as the weather and special NPCs. More vague suggestions include a full 7 day weather report, the current stalk state, and an ability to watch Isabelles' announcements again through the TV. There should also be a way to skip the announcements, maybe the X button? (X to skip)
Here is what I came up with:
NPC encounter: Isabelle: "I heard (NPC) is visiting today, come see what he or she is doing."
Gulliver encounter: Isabelle: "Someone is washed up on the beach! can someone please see if he (Gulliver/Gullivaarr) is ok?
Wisp encounter: Isabelle: "Tonight, a ghost may appear! Keep your eyes open for him!"
Weather report: Isabelle: "The weather is ________ (clear, cloudy, rainy) for today."
Other weather reports: Isabelle: "Tonight, there will be ______ (a meteor shower, Northern Lights) (note: she'll say how heavy the meteor shower is)
Rainbow: Isabelle: "I heard that a rainbow may appear today!"
