Known about this for a while, have to say I don't use complementary colours too often in my signatures, though. I don't like how they look most of the time.

no, its a universal color chart used by professional artists
plus I learned it in school :D

use hints of compliments
like for example
the character's hair is brownish-orange while the background is a navyblue
or
a light purple flower next to a creamy-yellow flower

I already learned about this back in Art 1, but we never really went into color that much. We just stuck with black and white and tried to understand shading (which I never did understand)...but thanks for the refresher course! :)

thanks, I hope more ppl use this idea when they creat sigs or other pieces of art
I use this ALL the time :]

Ah the color wheel. I had good times with that one. I gave up on her though. She started getting more and more complex over the years...

And I find it funny that your color wheel pic has a star of David in it. COINCIDENCE?

Hehe, cool. I remember learning this in art class in elementary school.
I know! It was fun! But in recent years we had to learn all that teritreary color or whatever junk. After then I gave up on it. Too many big words.

I only use complimentary colors now, it fits best to my personality
I say, pick a scheme that fits you well and stick to it
