Forever trusting who we are
Okay, but your drawings rock?! I'm a fan of how you draw traditional sketches, Ogerpon looks awesome with the teal mask. :0 And Mudhound is so adorable, I wanna draw them at some point!

Thank you! The Teal Mask is just one of the masks Ogerpon wears in battle, and she has three more of them! (One is the Wellspring Mask, which I drew a while ago.)Okay, but your drawings rock?! I'm a fan of how you draw traditional sketches, Ogerpon looks awesome with the teal mask. :0
Ahh I'm so flattered! Yes, that would be great, and I can't wait to see it!! I also want to add that I might try writing a short story with Cosmew and Mudhound so I can explore their dynamic a little more...with that one poem as my muse, of course! (Oh and FYI, Mudhound is a guy, so he uses he/him pronouns.)And Mudhound is so adorable, I wanna draw them at some point!![]()
Hi, just saw this! I didn't expect someone to actually follow my tutorial, I only made it for fun. Anyway, it looks very nice, and I'm digging all the background stuff you put there!Hi Suguri! I hope you don't mind me posting here, but I just wanted to say that I really like your drawings! I was lurking and saw that you had a 'how to draw' tutorial for one of your characters, so I decided to give it a try.
Here's my attempt at Crisp the Artist!
Sometimes bad things happen, and you just can't forgive... And you can't forget! Sometimes all you've got left is hate!

i've been reading those book since i was little seeing your post about it made me want to re-read that series (personally the books pre a tale of two kitties aren't as good as cat kid is the heart and soul of dog man)Thank you very much for the compliment!
Also, I can totally relate to that feeling; I used to think my art wasn't good enough before I made my own thread here. It might be easier said than done, but there's no need to worry about how your art may look. As long as you're having fun with it, you're good to go! One user here said something like this in a post once and it continues to resonate with me to this day. It went, "There is no such thing as bad art."
Perhaps if you're looking for where to start with drawing, I would suggest researching some simple drawing guides for animals, characters, or anything else online. Also, if you've ever heard of and enjoy Dav Pilkey's books (not sure how old you are though, considering his target audience), you can check out his "How 2 Draw" guides for some of his characters here. Some of the designs are simple to draw and the steps are broken down line-by-line, so it might help you a bit. (And I do apologize if this advice doesn't work for you, it's the best I could say at the moment.)
And when you're following those tutorials, you don't have to worry about making look exactly like the final result shown. You can put your own spin on it, if you know what I mean! You might also find yourself making some mistakes in the process, and that is fine. Think of them not as an impediment, but as a lesson to learn, something that can help you grow.
I can't wait to see what you make later! And I mean it. We on TBT are a friendly bunch, so I doubt anyone will hate on your art here. Remember to do what makes you happy, and you gotta believe!
P.S. here's another quote, this time from my partner @/ZeldaCrossing64, just so I can remind you: "Art can still be good, even if it looks 'messy' or 'bad'."

No problem! I'm glad it helped! And I totally agree with you, Li'l Petey (Cat Kid is his superhero persona!) is my favorite character in the series by far.i've been reading those book since i was little seeing your post about it made me want to re-read that series (personally the books pre a tale of two kitties aren't as good as cat kid is the heart and soul of dog man)

That is awesome to see! Happy 3rd anniversary! Soon it will be a year since my first day at Bell Tree Forums in 2024!My 3rd TBT anniversary is coming up in a few days, so what better way to celebrate than to draw this little tribute! It's essentially Crisp in front of a whiteboard covered with a bunch of references to me and all the things I enjoy.

If this drawing looks familiar to you, that's because I was inspired by something my partner @ZeldaCrossing64 made almost 2 years ago! It was such a clever idea, I couldn't help but try something similar. Like what they did in their post, I'll gladly explain all the little doodles on the whiteboard in the spoiler below.Note the differences here. I had to divert from the sketch to accommodate the marker brush I used for the whiteboard doodles.

Moon, stars, and mud - A reference to one of my favorite scenes from Dog Man: For Whom The Ball Rolls, and also the poem that inspired it (which happens to be my favorite too). The poem in question went like this:
Two men looked through prison bars.
One saw mud. The other, stars.
Ogerpon - My #1 favorite Pokémon. No other 'mon can top my beloved.
Kieran - My favorite Pokémon characterand major crush! I find his Indigo Disk appearance easier to draw than his Teal Mask appearance.
Li'l Petey - The moment Petey cloned himself, this kitten stole my heart. I see him as an inspiration to everyone, and I love his dynamic with his dad! The stuff he's saying is a quote from For Whom The Ball Rolls.
Town Tune Egg - One of my all-time favorite collectibles alongside the Bluebird of Happiness Plush! It's saying "pthhpth", which is the catchphrase of Bob, my favorite AC villager. (Not the other Bob.)
Char = Petey - When I first saw my partner's fursona (this was before we started dating), I told them they looked a lot like Petey in his edgy phase. This doodle is an homage to that. Crisp is also in love with Char, which is why there's an arrow pointing to them alongside a cute message.
Bob - He was the first OC I ever made, and should not be confused with my favorite Animal Crossing villager. He doesn't appear very often in my art nowadays, but it never hurts to reference him every once in a while.
The Bark Knight (Dog Man) - I followed a "How 2 Draw" guide in my copy of Dog Man: Lord of the Fleas to draw this character!
Poké Ball and Triforce - Because I like Pokémon and Char likes Zelda.
world's most wholesomest cat - A special nod to Petey's (former) title, the "World's Most Evilest Cat".
"wowzers!" - Kieran's very adorable catchphrase!
Nintendo 3DS - It will always be my favorite console from Nintendo. I used to play on one, which I lost, and then I got another to replace it, which I ended up losing also.
celestial! - The title of one of my favorite songs! It was sung by Ed Sheeran, and it appeared in the end credits for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. A remix of this also appears in the end credits for its DLC!
Bluebird of Happiness Plush - Another one of my all-time favorite collectibles!
Applin - Just a nice little Pokémon I wanted to add. You can get an Applin from Kieran in the DLC, which is pretty cute, if you ask me!
"It's your story, reader. You can color it any way you want!" - This is based on a quote that is repeated a few times in Dog Man: Grime and Punishment. I thought it would be fitting to include it with how colorful the whiteboard is.
While we're still here, I made yet another drawing of Crisp as Roger Rabbit holding a Town Tune egg!

I also made this cute sketch of her yesterday, where she's reenacting my favorite scene from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I really like how I drew the eyes! I was going to make it a comic, but I felt weird drawing two characters about to kiss for some reason. Her ears were originally smaller than in the final product, but it looked off to me so I had to change that.

And here's my last Crisp drawing for this post. It's based on Char's drawing of her as Bugs Bunny, and in here, she's butchering a world-famous catchphrase from him. I had to use a reference from Dog Man for her pose because I don't often draw my characters lying down.

And finally, even more of my rough sketches. Some of these were made through "How 2 Draw" guides from the books and online. I'll be putting them in spoilers because of their size.
