The best methods for obtaining IGB?!!

Hello I am new to Animal Crossing: New Leaf. What are the best methods for obtaining bells? Other than selling expensive bugs from the island or perfect fruit!

Growing foreign fruit, selling your BTB and turnips are all fairly decent.

I sell BTB and villagers. I my old New Leaf game (I now have 2 cartridges) to cycle through and sell villagers, and then transfer the bells over to my current town. Those two things are definitely the fastest ways you can get a lot of money using this community. In-game methods however are more limited and won't get you bells as fast, those two things you mentioned in your first post (selling bugs and fruit) are actually the quickest ways you can get money. Other than that, you can sell turnips but that's about it.

Once you get your first perfect fruit, BE SURE to plant it. Then, keep harvesting and planting until you have a lot of perfect fruit trees. You can then harvest your fruit everyday and go to a friend's town to sell them to Reese for quick money (since she pays more for foreign fruit). I do this and get at least 200,000 bells for a few baskets of nine. You can also sell them for more bells on the forums but it also takes longer. Hope that helps! c:

It may not be a stellar method, but if you're the type to prefer fishing over bug-catching (as I do), it might be less stressful in the long run to make your bells by catching island sharks rather than island bugs.

It takes a little longer to fill the basket, but selling prices for a full basket of sharks is similar to that of a basket of beetles.

This is only a suggestion for an alternative to bug catching, not a "better" method, but it's still worth considering. After all, bell-earning shouldn't be stressful. XD

I've heard selling villagers is a good way to get money, though I have absolutely no idea how villager trading works.

My way of getting bells is catching sharks and beetles, even thought it is VERY time consuming. I usually get around 400K but it takes me about 2-4 hours (I think) to fill the island box.
A method that you can do everyday but may not be as quick is finding money rocks and maybe selling fossil/gyroids and ores.

Once you pay off your home loan go to the island at night and catch the rare beetles. Do that for a bit until you can get enough money to buy a lot of turnips. Find someone on here who has really high prices and you'll make what you spent on turnips and then some :3

beetles and sharks can be found at the island after 5pm
a good haul can net you 200-300k if you keep at it.

I would say money rock and selling gems, if not selling you tbt on here is a great idea!

The rate as of right now is 100tbt = 10-15 MILLION bells! (i think)

Another thing is turnips -- you should invest well in those, and when Reese offers a high price (or you find someone in the forums that has high turnip sell value in their town) sell then.

Honestly I feel like TBT and such is somewhat cheating since it isn't an IGB earning methods, but I think it's pretty good too.

ah very true. Yeah I was just wondering since catching sharks and beetles does take a long time. I guess it is effective though!
