the 500+play time badge

The same weird thing happened to me when I exceeded 200 play hours for the silver badge. It was daaaaaaaaays before I got anything from Phineas. I remember because he had other badges for me at the same time as that one. My only advice is to wait. I'm sorry that it's not much... <=/

Does it say 500 on your activity log?
I think the activity log counts time you spent plot resetting and stuff, but the game doesn't because you didn't save.

This. Don't use the Activity Log as an indication of how long you've played, because the badge counts it differently. I got mine when the Activity Log said I had played over 600 hours.

It's per character - so if you're going for it on your mayor, it needs to be 500 hours played (and saved!) on your mayor character.

I was gonna say this too. Because I thought I was trying to get the hostess badge and my tree said 513 or something. Then my friend pointed out that this was the total for the TOWN, not my mayor. It only took a few more before Phineas showed up.
But also the dream badge, I had kept a very precise count, but ended up having to do 8 or 9 extra before he finally showed up.
Also, do you TT? Maybe that might have messed him up a little.
Don't worry though, just keep playing, he'll show up eventually.
