The 16 villager cycle?

Wasn't sure where to ask this, so I'm making a thread.

My question is, does the 16 villager cycle also apply to main street? As in, would you only ever see the previous 16 animals from your town there, or does main street remember all your previous animals?

Main Street is actually a good indicator who is still stuck in your 16 cycle... If you do not see a villager on your Main Street anymore and it's been a long time since you had them, there's a good chance you can bring them back in.... But make sure you check the museum, ables, not just nooks

I think it would apply on main street as well! i'm not sure, but it makes sense

Dang, it would have been awesome if it remembered all animals.
