The Coelacanth wasn't too hard to catch in this game... I got it within an hour. I remember in City Folk though, I searched for hours... It took me a couple of weeks to find one. D:

errr they actually are... look it up they are one of the "rarest" fish in the game and are ment to be the hardest on to catch... What makes it hard to catch is their shadow is the same as a seabass shadow so it makes it even harder to catch

I always tried catching them, took me forever! i almost gave up before one night when it started raining, and posted a giveaway. I said that it would keep going on until I caught a cocleanth, and expected it to go for a few hours.
Of course I would catch one 10 minutes laters

Does anyone remember way back in the 2002 GC version, you needed an e-reader to get to the Island? Not sure if this ever happened to anyone else ever, but I went to the Island once and literally caught a POCKETFUL of Coelacanth. Think my game mustve glitched or something, but I just kept catching them EVERYWHERE!

I think I'm one if the only people who is still having considerable difficulty catching a Coelacanth.

I'm aware that Nintendo made the process significantly easier in this game, so I'm frankly pretty embarrassed about my continued failure. I've had my town for 14 months, and nope, no Coelacanth yet.

It's great that so many people have managed to catch theirs, though. I'm happy that you're having success.
