Terrible airline experiences

I was on my way home from New York a few months ago, and after my layover in Atlanta we had economy seats with Delta, right behind the first class seats. You'd expect those to be nice, right? Nah man. They hadn't bothered to clean the area for a while, and there was this red sticky mess all over the floor for two rows back. The woman sitting next to me had really bad headphones and was watching some really bad Spanish show and I could hear everything. Plus the service was bad and it was just not a good experience. Which is weird, because I typically really like Delta.

That surprises me too. In my experience Delta has been a lot better than United.

In general for me would have to be sitting next to someone with a fussy baby. It just gives headaches >_< also a time where there was no room for my carry on luggage so it had to be suddenly moved to the baggage claim luggage. They didn't charge me extra for it thankfully.

The worst thing that's happened to me due to an airline is forgetting my luggage in another country on the way back from Italy. But I got it back eventually so it wasn't a huge deal.

My worst experience on a plane in general involved a balding man who probably hadn't bathed in at least a week sitting in front of me. He turned the air nozzle on above him, and the air was blowing over his head, through his greasy combover and directly into my face. I have never been so close to having to use a barf bag.

Poor you :(

The day that my poor British boyfriend tried to come to America... I didn't personally experience it, but it was hectic.

He gets on his flight from Britain to New York, and from there he was supposed to go on a flight from New York to Ohio (which is where I live) and, well, that'd be WAY too easy for all of us so that didn't go correctly. He gets off his NY flight only to find out that the flight to Ohio has been cancelled due to bad weather. Thing is... my family didn't know this yet. My dad actually looked up online to try to find his NY to Ohio to flight and found out from there it was cancelled, and for some reason though that Danny (name of the bae) had already arrived in Ohio early. So I start rushing on my makeup and all of that and after contacting Danny's brothers on facebook and asking them to call his cell phone to see where he's at (our phone didn't go through to his fancy British phone), we find out that he's still in New York. Then, thank god, his phone was able to call US, so we got a hold of him.

So we find out his flight from NY to Ohio is cancelled, and that he may have to get on a flight from NY to Chicago, then Chicago to Ohio, which would mean that instead of arriving at the intended 9-10pm, he'd be arriving at around midnight. Sucks, but not much we could do. Thankfully god took pity on our young, infatuated souls and it turned out that there was a flight available that was heading to Ohio. Danny calls us, tells us he's getting on this flight, and that he should be arriving by about 6:18pm.

So my dad and I arrive at the airport and we're driving along and it's 6:20pm and I'm not worried. I mean, it'll probably be delayed a bit so if I don't see him yet it's okay, right? Then it's 6:30pm. Then 6:40. Still no Danny. There was also some crappy construction going on outside of one of the entrances so I couldn't really tell if he was behind there or not. We couldn't call him on our cell phone cuz lol international calls dont want us to find HAPPINESS so we're left driving around in circles around the airport seeing if we spot him. Then my mom calls us. Turns out he called my mom and said he got off the flight. This was at like, probaaably around 6:50pm. So we're still driving, still waiting for him, and I'm getting impatient and it's almost 7pm so I call my mom and tell her to call him up so that we can tell him where to meet us. She calls back at around 7-7:10pm and says that he's outside waiting for us and that he sounds extremely anxious and worried and that we should find him. OKAY THAT'S WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO DO, THANKS CHERYL.

So we loop around like one more time, and then I'm looking out the window and I see a very tall and very attractive young man standing in the distance and I'm sitting there thinking "Oh my god it's Danny" and I tell my dad to stop the car cuz I just KNOW it's him (and it was him) and apparently my dad didn't listen because I opened the car door and the car was still moving so I tripped right in front of him but it was okay cuz I didn't die and I ran and we hugged and we were happy.

The end.

I was on a transatlantic flight (so like 7 hours long) with virgin atlantic.
Long story short, the plane leaked on me. For seven ***** hours.
I have no idea what it even was but there was a steady trickle going right onto me.
Told the cabin crew and requested to move before the plane took off.
They basically said "no use your blanket"
Needless to say, I was very wet and unhappy by the time I arrived

Owh gosh, so many dreadful stories O_O I have only been on plane flight for... Hmmn... 8-10 times or so, but nothing really to complain about. My flights also didn't last loner than 4 hours at most, as it was within Europe mostly. The farthest I've been is from the Netherlands to Croatia XD

I've never had anything too horrific, just some long delays here and there when I've been traveling home from the West Coast. I guess things got pretty chaotic when we were trying to fly out of the Miami Beach area after Katrina hit, but I'd say that was more than understandable given the circumstances.
