Terrible airline experiences

Worst experience for me, was a 1hr 30 min flight from Manchester to Frankfurt and I had a Jewish kid sat next to me, who throughout the whole flight, whinged about Lufthansa putting tomato on his food . I have never so badly wanted to shove his 12 religious books followed by his head up his backside :|.

in 2006, the morning after the 2006 transatlantic aircraft terrorism attempt (the reason airlines are now extremely strict on the limits for passengers bringing liquids on flights) i was travelling to new york (JFK) with my family and because ireland is so close to london everything was just hella hectic and crazy and our flight was delayed by like 12 hours and we had to throw all our liquids out and i have a vivid memory of my mom throwing all her chanel lipsticks in the bin it was really sad because these new security measures were totally unprecedented so we had no idea they were gonna be in place, and the whole airport in general was just on edge it was super scary
anyway when we actually got on the flight it was fine until we reached new york and then there was an electrical storm so we circled JFK for like an hour before our pilot decided to fly to philadelphia instead because it wasn't safe to land in new york
so we flew to philly and when we got there that airport was freakin out too because of the terrorism attempts so the customs wouldn't let us land because they hadn't been expecting us, so we circled the airport for like another 6 hours and when they finally gave us the go-ahead to land, they wouldn't let our luggage through until three days later
so we had to get a midnight bus to new york with literally only the clothes on our backs and take an emergency 3am trip to Macys to buy clothes for the next three days hahaha
it was wild

every flight i take is always horrible but that's because i get really bad motion sickness on planes and i spend most of the time throwing up, not because the flight itself is terrible coz of the staff or w.e

actually once i wanted to push my seat back but the guy behind me was fat so i wasnt allowed to coz he kept telling me to push it forward and when i didnt he would tell the staff and make me. that was p annoying

i have severe ematophobia and schizo and i had forgotten to take my meds so i got on the flight (by myself at the age of 12) and i got to sit wherever i wished, so i chose to sit in the back by myself and everyone got on when suddenly a lady about 1 meter wide and 1 meter tall comes AND SITS RIGHT NEXT TO ME IN THE MIDDLE SEAT WHEN THERE IS AN AISLE SEAT and i was like no pls save me. so halfway through the flight my pill from the morning completely wore off and i started to see my piglet hallucination so i decided to take a nap and suddenly ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE TURBULENCE STARTS TO HAPPEN AND SO i shield mysel in my blanket and i manage to somehow fall asleep and maybe an hour later i wake up to a terrible amount o turbulence AND A HUGEEE RETCHING NOISE and i look and the lady (whom should know how to control her vomit so that it lands in the bag) HAS PUKED ALL OVER MY BLANKET SHIELD AND I JUST BROKE DOWN.

Ugh, that's terrible. I fear being thrown up on anywhere, or throwing up on other people. I've only been on a plane two times and the flight was nice. Sorry to hear this. She should know to take mess well before she even gets onto the plane. My Mom can't stand boats, roller coasters, or planes, and she only takes planes. She's fine, she sleeps, because the Dramamine that helps her nausea makes her sleepy. At least the woman didn't fall asleep on top of you...heh.. Unless she did? ;-;

i kindly asked the stewardess for a seat change before it could happen.
and she was like 30 smoething she should know how to handle that

I've only been on a plane twice, and I'm not going to say that they are bad experiences purely because I can't remember.

The worst one I had was last year for my Study Abroad to Costa Rica. We flew from our airport to Atlanta, which went just fine. When we got to Atlanta, we found the terminal and everything pretty quickly, and went to find food quick before we left again. And then we waited to board, and waited, and waited... eventually we just went to the bar with our professor because why not, we were stuck in the airport anyway. We ended up waiting 5 hours to board because, according to the ladies working the boarding gate, that the first pilot we had was over his flight hours, and couldn't take us. The second that they called had to drive like half an hour to the airport, and it turns out he didn't have the certification to land in San Jose because of the mountains. The third ended up driving an hour to the airport and THAT'S when we finally got to leave. We finally landed in San Jose somewhere after 2-3 AM, I believe (I was too tired to remember really).

The trip was really fun, but it was a pain again on the way back. Once again we got stuck in Atlanta, this time in customs. To make it short, a few of us nearly missed our flight completely (and would've been forced to stay overnight). I ran across two terminals and made my flight by barely 30 seconds. Never going through Atlanta's international terminal again if I can help it.

Spirit Airlines. My mom and I used that carrier once and it was awful. The service sucked, the flight was really, really bumpy, and there were a couple babies crying the whole time because their parents couldn't get them to be quiet.

Wow, I've only had issues in Atlanta once and that was ten years ago when we got stuck there coming back from Orlando because we missed our connecting flight to Jackson. I'm not fond of Houston's airport though with my experience.

I forget the airline (I think it was Delta though), but it applies to any airplane. When people recline their seats back, they need to remember that they are basically in someone's lap. That someone may be claustrophobic, and/or already be terrified enough as it is simply because they dont like planes. Rant over. I just hate it when people do that because I am very claustrophobic and terrifieed of airplanes, so it makes me a nervous wreck.

i actually agree with this, i know obviously reclining seats are put there for a reason so that people can use them etc. but i always get so annoyed with the person in front of me if they recline their seat and i personally would never put my seat back because it's so rude and uncomfortable for the person behind you

what the **** this **** isn't even real lmfao , dont let your kids go on the internet if they are under 13.

Back in september, on the way back from Rome to NYC on 7 hour flight just me and my mom a group of gross fat British kids were kickI g our sits and talking **** for the last 3 hours of the flight. Like the whole time my seat was getting kicked and moved. And I kept trying to look back and give some dirty looks but it doesn't help I look 10 years younger meanwhile my mom was just in a complete state of disorder (family issues).

when i was little my dad had to pick up our bags from the airport at like midnight because they put it on the wrong flight or something?? luckily we were visiting our grandparents and staying there lol

I don't think I've had a greatly horrible airline experience, but maybe that's because I'm accustomed to flying... annually. There's just a few common grievances:

- Airline food.
I've never been able to eat airline food since I was 4 (first flight was with Qantas). I tend to just eat peppermint candies for the 8 or so hours on the plane.

I do eat a little, just in case there's something I could eat but the last time I did on Air Asia (flight back from Vietnam > Malaysia > Australia), I got food poisoning + what seemed like a deathly cold and couldn't do anything for a week.

- Delays.
I'm used to the 4 - 6 hours delays from Vietnam Airlines, Air Asia and Jet Star. But you get what you pay for so...

- Cockroaches.
Um, don't even know how they got on the plane but I saw it about two weeks ago on my flight to Vietnam. It was unsettling to see a cockroach for 8 hours and I never took off my shoes during the whole flight.

One year, me and my family were going to Puerto Vallarta for a winter getaway. I can't remember who we were flying with, but we were going to be flying out of Canada to Phoenix, from Phoenix to Mexico City, then from Mexico City to Puerto Vallarta. Even though we were changing flights a lot, the layovers were not to bad... Or so we thought. When we arrived in Mexico City, we found out that our flight was over booked, and we were pushed to take the next flight out- which was an 8 hour layover. It wouldn't of been that bad, but Mexico City's airport isn't an international airport and none of us speak Spanish. Longest layover ever.

My worst flight experience was coming home from New York in April on my high school senior trip. Our flight was from New York, to Denver, to Saskatchewan. No problems getting from New York to Denver, but when we landed in Denver we heard rumblings that our airport was closed because of a snow storm. We asked the flight staff before we boarded, and they said everything was good. We took off, and was over half way home until the pilot announced that we have to turn around because they cannot land. So we turned around (most of the people I was traveling with had no money), and had to wait over night in Denver airport for our next flight. When we landed back in Denver, nothing was open. We couldn't eat, we slept on the floor, and it was freezing. It was the longest night I have ever experienced.

I was on my way home from New York a few months ago, and after my layover in Atlanta we had economy seats with Delta, right behind the first class seats. You'd expect those to be nice, right? Nah man. They hadn't bothered to clean the area for a while, and there was this red sticky mess all over the floor for two rows back. The woman sitting next to me had really bad headphones and was watching some really bad Spanish show and I could hear everything. Plus the service was bad and it was just not a good experience. Which is weird, because I typically really like Delta.
