So yesterday, I finally managed to get an unwanted tenth villager to move out. I was real happy about that 'cuz I've been wanting to do some Mystery Tour hunting to find the best final Villager, probably one that doesn't have an Amiibo Card yet. However, when I booted up the game this morning, I saw that Nook had already sold the lot to one Lionel. I did not ask him to move in, whether through the campsite or an island tour. This came out of freakin' nowhere and I really don't feel like going through the same **** with Lionel as I did with the previous villager, it's long and boring.
So I gotta ask, is that a normal sale delay for a tenth villager plot? Is it even worth it to try and look around for an ideal villager if I need to find it in, like... one day?
I feel like my plots stay open for at least a day so it does seem fast if your plot did not even have the time to stay open. Maybe he is from another island? or maybe this can happen! i hope someone else can be more helpful.
Did you visit anyone's islands recently? If one of their islands had Lionel already moved out there's a chance that you picked him up from their void, resulting in the plot automatically being taken up after a day. When you talk to Lionel if he mentions about another island then it's certain that you got him from the void.
I did visit a bunch of islands for, like, trades and purchases and such...
Odds are good that I'll never find out if Lionel really is from another island, though, because I'm not talking to that guy in the least, I want him off my island ASAP :/
