TBT bells when editing/merging posts

It seems that whenever I edit/merge a post, I lose the amount I earned in making the post.

For example:
-replies to thread- (earned 1.5 bells)
-edits/merges post- (spent 1.5 bells)

Just to clarify, is this true for all users in the community? A tad bit confused, no big deal but I don't get why we lose TBT bells for modifying our posts..?

In actuality, TBT just adjusts the amount of BTB you get from that post when you edit it, so if you add something substantial, you get extra BTB, and likewise, if you remove something substantial, you lose some BTB. If you just fix a small error like a typo, the amount of BTB you get doesn't change. I hope that helps.

Yeah. Same thing happens to me,. I just wait until someone else replies there and post whatever I wanted to post.
