I saw i was "severely" sliced with a sword... and the lack of activity leads me to believe I'm out, but maybe I'm just on a coffee break.

Maybe they severely sliced one of your arms? That sounds severe enough. Hypothetically, you managed to build yourself a tourniquet and control the bleeding. Tada! Still alive
You have to go into hiding though, so that’s why there’s no new activity.
