It's nighttime. You're walking around your town taking a quick little stroll and out comes a tarantula or scorpion.
Am I the only one who is terrified of walking around at night because of those bugs?? They always show up randomly and they scare the heck out of me when I see something moving on the ground out of nowhere.

No you're not the only one. One time I was walking around and didn't hear the audio cue that a tarantula was near. It quickly ran up and bit me >.> I could be wrong, but I think they usually spawn where feathers and snowflakes (depending on the event/season) appear.

I’ve actually never been on acnl at night time believe it or not, so I wouldn’t know. But knowing me that would freak me out too ! ;-;

That is literally terrifying. I cut down all of my trees in my town and I saw a tarantula and literally gasped. I stood still and watched it fall off the edge but it was such a bad experience .w.
They're both scary, but I think tarantulas are scarier only because of their black fur. Scorpions I can see.

I didn't want to go on acnl at night at all after that- but then I realized I needed one to complete my bug encyclopedia.

Yeah I normally would have no trees in my town, but I want fruit to give to others if they need it.
100% tarantulas are worse because of their black fur. When I caught one, I genuinely was like please no I don't want to hold it >.> Just take it off my screen!

That was literally me omg, I caught my first one about two days ago and I was so disgusted holding it and having it in my inventory ;-;

oof yes especially because they are kind of camouflaged haha! but what upsets me more is the fact that i want to catch them but always only notice when it's too late (i spotted one a second before it fell into the river just now rip)

I see what you mean. And they're so fast too! Back in WW I remember finding it hard to figure which way a tarantula was facing. I was always scared to sneak up on them.

In NL I've only seen a tarantula one time so far. I was sneaking up to it to catch it for the museum, but I missed (hooray for terrible depth perception lol). It turned around and I had no time to escape ;; I'm glad they don't spawn so often, but next month there will be scorpions as well.

Yes! It's literally the worst moments that you notice them and it's either a sad experience or just traumatizing overall. ;o;

I've never seen a tarantula until New Leaf. I'm so glad I saw one now instead of back then because I probably would of quit animal crossing. I had really bad arachnophobia when I was younger .-. and I can just imagine randomly walking in Wild World and having one pop up out of nowhere. And I'm definitely not ready to see scorpions in my town.

You're definitely not the only one >< I first saw a tarantula a few days back and freaked out. I've tried catching it twice but I missed both times. I always panic when it comes charging... Why are they so fast anyway? :') It scares the heck out of me

Oh yeah, I try to walk on my paths so they don't spawn near me. Most of the time I come across them by accident, I wasn't actually trying to get one. I also get so scared by them when they bite me that I gasped or scream a little. The tarantulas are faaaaar scarier then the scorpions too.

They?re so speedy LOL it?s such a scary event that I just hate dealing with. I?m so glad I?ve never got bitten by one yet, as I always see them before they see me.

I used to be scared of them. But now I try looking for them so I can capture them.

I feel that. I had a realization moment that i needed them for my encyclopedia, plus I need the bells.

Agreed. I can’t wait to start laying down my paths and such. I really relate to the screaming- especially if it’s 11pm and it’s just outta nowhere :(

I was a few times frightened when one of those little monsters showed up out of nowhere. What's
worse is when you want to try to catch them but then forgot to take your net with you... (I hate
being lazy.)

I was playing super late last night so I didn't have my volume up. Suddenly I saw a tarantula and panicked, cause I don't have them in my encyclopedia yet. It ran off. I stayed awake for like, 2 more hours to try and get another one to spawn. I got some fish added to my already almost-full encyclopedia which is nice, but I'm one of the crazies who want them to spawn.

YES!! I dump my tools on the ground so I am able to carry things such as clovers or hybrids- and then I realize I don't have my net with me the one time the bug wants to spawn. That's the worst.

They're so scary, so I hate when they spawn. I caught one and now I'm finished lool. But it's good that you caught it + the fish so you can finish your encyclopedia :)

They only spook me when they managed to walk out from a field of flowers. Not only do I not know where they are, but makes me a bit scared that they'll jump out and bite me. Luckily, they only do that if you are holding your net and it's a different story if you're holding something else.

Ugh, another reason why I kind of hate playing in the summer months. My heart RACES just seeing one! I'm pretty terrified of them embarrassingly, haha. Bees I can catch no problem, but I made my partner catch both the Tarantula & Scorpion for my encyclopedia because I just cannot do it. ;w;

I must be crazy, because I love the tarantula and the scorpion. When I hear one skittering around, I get excited because I rarely see them. I've already caught one for my museum, so when I ran across one the other night I just watched it scurry around for a minute until it disappeared. I thought it was cute. LOL

I actually didn't know they ignore you if you have a different tool out. I guess I'm walking around with an axe in my hand all night ;p

Right!! Bees used to be so scary, but now I can catch them with no problem and such. And I feel you, it's crazy how Nintendo made the Tarantula & Scorpion so horrifying.

I always turn up my volume but I've never heard them make noises. Maybe I'm just deaf (my hearing is bad sometimes lol)
but I can never hear them when they're walking around
