Tanning question

So I have the heart bopper on my character, along with the pacifier. A lot of people have said that when you tan, don't have any of these things on.

Will this prevent any tanning? Or will I still get a tan, even though it's on my character?

You can't have anything on your head or on your face or it wont work.

For best results go to the island, take those off, put on the wetsuit, and go into the water for an hour for everyday.

And, if you dont want any tanning, wear a hat or a parasol. Also, lemon packs work as well.

As far as I know it's only the hats, umbrellas and masks that prevent tanning. I'm sure there's an information page about this somewhere, maybe on thonky.

I know that umbrellas prevent tanning, but wearing things like crowns, bows, hairpins or roses does not. I've tanned tons of times (even getting to the darkest shade) wearing a crown and a rose.
