Why is the T&T Emporium only open till 9PM? The Home Center was open till 11PM!

Why does the highest upgrade shop close a few hours earlier? It's annoying.

I do think that the Emporium should be open until at least 10:00. It doesn't make sense to close at 9:00 when it's the highest upgrade.

i think it's because it combines leif's store too, but i never understood why it closed so early either. i really enjoyed my night owl ordinance.

Previously Nookington's stayed open later (the T&T Emporium counterpart of previous games of course), except in City Folk in which it closed at 9. I think it should stay open later too, even if only by an hour. I should also mention I'm not really a fan of the design of T&T Emporium, it just doesn't look like a department store should look to me.

Super T&T is worse when it comes to closing time. It closes the earliest of the Nookling stores, at 8 P.M on any ordinance but Night Owl. That sounds terrible, especially when its predecessor is open the latest on any ordinance (especially Night Owl). But I agree that T&T Emporium closes too early. The worst part is that those stores are so easy to remodel, and once the renovation is done, they can never go back (nor can you specifically choose what times they open or close).

It's a little annoying sometimes, but... If you enact the "Night Owl" ordinance for your town, that problem will be solved. They'll stay open until 12AM in that case. (Re-Tail then stays open until 2AM, too, which is a nice extra perk.)

Plus, it's not as though their items change throughout the day. Usually one visit is all you need (unless you're in dire need of something like medicine---in that case, if you have an uchi villager in your town, talk to them with a bee-stung face and they'll give you one free. I used that trick once to get some late-night medicine to a sick villager).

The best store to have during Night Owl - T&T Mart. It's still open around 3 am. If ordering doesn't benefit the Nookling Stores in order to remodel them, then I would have ordered everything at 3 in the morning in ACNL.

They could've closed Leif's section at 9PM and keep the rest open till 10PM or 12AM.

Well I think the answer deals with the fact that big stores like that might not stay open as long as smaller stores, in order to save money since it costs a lot more to run a large department store. I know that sounds a bit silly using a real world example, but it does make since. Malls and places like that do about the same thing when it comes to closing times.

I actually think that was nintendo's intention

Quite a few larger stores in my area are open until 10 or 11, Kohl's, and target for example. Unless they modeled the store after closing times in Japan or something since it is a Japanese game?

It really doesn't make any sense on how the last upgrade closes at 11 PM, while this upgrade closes at 9 PM.
It opens earlier than the last upgrade, but...why does it have to close earlier while the last upgrade closes later.
Is Gracie like their mom or something, because it feels like it...

I don't think it's Gracie's doing, since it's the nooklings who kick you out if you're in the store past nine, and not Gracie, who doesn't seem to mind.

I guess it's also like... sacrifice? You give up good store hours for a better selection of items.

I think Gideon said it the best. Department stores don't open for long. Personally, I think longer hours is better than larger variety of sections (and larger sections). I'm also prefer in-depth stores over one-of-everything stores.
