I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I'm seeing some reports on Twitter that the new Switch update has been wiping data, including islands, which are non-recoverable at this point.

Does anyone have any solid info on this? Or know how to update safely?

EDIT: I was able to update my Switch with no apparent issues, thank you all for your replies!

This was the main tweet I saw, after digging I found a handful of users who said they had a similar issue, but nothing further

Weird 🤔

Got the update this morning, my island is still there, no errors or anything else.

I checked out the tweet and most people are either now scared to update their Switches or already done it and don't have any issues. Strange, as I didn't saw or hear anyone else having such a problem besides this one person here.

I dug through the keyword "Switch Update" under latest tweets and found maybe 4 other people who said they had an issue of similar nature? Possibly relating to whether they updated the game first or the console first, but wasn't able to confirm any further than that..

Hm, that's confusing. So far, it seems that this case is at least not a huge issue that effects the majority of Switch users, otherwise there would have been much more people complaining about it by now. I guess the best thing those people who got affected by this can do is contacting Nintendo and ask them what went wrong.

updated, no problem
