Swimming Tips

I've been in the water basically 24/7 since the update dropped (except when I have to sell my haul lol) and loving it, so it was surprising to see so many ppl having trouble. Here's what I've been doing:

1. Don't mash the A button! I won't deny that even the top swimming speed is pretty slow, but mashing A will actually make you slower. Instead, try to find a rhythm (like you would swimming IRL!) where you press A only when your character finishes their downstroke! This works on the surface and while diving.
2. Chase creatures towards the net if you can. They're no longer able to swim under it (unsure whether they can still disappear on the shoreline, though. haven't tried yet)! As someone who spent a lot of time trying to chase them away from the net in NL, this one's hard to remember, but it's made my life so much easier.
3. If a particularly fast creature is giving you trouble, try to get close by swimming using only the joystick - it's like the opposite of sneaking up with the net lol

I haven't encountered the horseshoe crab yet, but I haven't had any problems with the other speed demons (I even caught 3 gigas clams in a row one time 0___0), so hopefully these tips come in handy for someone!

thanks for sharing! i’ve caught the 3 speedy buggers for july but i’m glad there’s tips out there in case there’s any more fast creatures that i’ll have to chase lol
