Surprisingly the bug off is fun!

So today was the bug off on my island and normally I'd pass it off because I dislike Flick but today I tried it and I actually loved it! It's better than the wedding event and fishing tourney. (I hate CJ and his challenge) But I overall I enjoyed it! The wand is cute the back pack is adorable and watching all my babies (especially Filbert, Diana, Kabuki and Kid cat) chase after bugs is cute! I made a profit off my bugs and caught over a 100 bugs! I'd do it again to get the other stuff. This bug set is better than new leaf and while running around my island I saw I got purple pansies! I overall had a blast! ♡

What is the date in your game? I'm just wondering if everyone has the Bug-Off on the same day. Also, C.J. is one of my favorite NPCs in Animal Crossing. I guess you're just not a fishionista! I'm glad to hear that you had fun, I'm looking forward to it.

Maybe not. I've checked multiple sources and they say the Bug-Off will occur on June 27th in the NH.

I know, I also time travel and I LOVED it! The items you get are lovely (the Butterfly Wall was different from the previous game but SO SO pretty)

The Bug-Off plays basically just like the Fishing Tourney, BUT it's way more fast paced and fun, since... well, bug-catching is just more fast-paced, which for me is more fun! And that 500 bell fee is nothing, I played plenty of times and never didn't make a profit! Though, it isn't quite as profitable as the Fishing Tourney. But bugs don't tend to be as expensive as fish.

(on a side note, I don't know how you don't like Flick, he's so sweet!)

did you play solo? you should try it others it gives you more tickets and it becomes a tad competitive .

I went to someones town to try it and it was fun to treat it like a competition, but I think it was a lot harder than the fishing tourney since there's no way to force bugs to spawn. So it took a lot longer getting points for the items, even playing in a group.

I think the most points we got in one round was like 17 (30 bugs caught if I rmbr correctly), and the lowest we got was 6

Argh! I work on Saturdays so I only get home at 5:30, I'll have HALF AN HOUR to do the bug off :'( why didn't they consider people who work?

I TTed to the Bug Off and I like it a whole lot more than the Fishing Tournament. If I feel like the number of bugs aren't spawning as much, I just go inside a building and out and it seems a little better. Lots of flowers are probably a must to get the bugs spawning more like butterflies, bees, and ladybugs.

I do that too all the time. I look at stuff and I don’t register all that I’m seeing. I’ve gotten in the habit of triple checking things for that very reason. It’s why I take so long to do stuff sometimes.
