Surgery

Some of you already know this, but Summer `12 (or Winter `09) I might go into surgery for something that's afflicted and affected me for a third of my life. I'm really nervous about this because I've never had surgery before. The surgery would take 1 hour and 1/2 - 2 hours. I would have scars for a while, but by a year they would be gone. The only other option is to live with this.

Thoughts? Anyone had surgery before that severe? (I don't mean like a broken bone or anything.)

And yes, it is also physically visible. But I won't post pictures. (It's not anywhere private or anything.)

Well, I'd get surgery if I were you. A lot of people I know that have been in surgery come out fine, I can understand getting nervous about it though, you're not alone on that part. I haven't had surgery in my life yet, but if this thing that's afflicted you is really serious, I'd say go for it. I'd rather live a life knowing I'm okay, then one I'm not. But of course, the choice is up to you.

I got circumcised and some other surgeries but that hurt like a mutha wuffa. XD

Well I can't tell not knowing what it is, but the only surgery I've had was getting my wisdom teeth removed... it hurt for a while after, and was really kinda weird, but now I wont have problems with them growing in later.

Another setback is that the surgery will cost $5000-$6000. Insurance might not cover it...
