there's a bundle including the game, the gamecube adapter, and a controller for 100 USD
don't know if it's worth it, but are you guys planning on getting it?

i probably am since i have 2 gc controllers currently and i want the adapter (kinda)

and since it is being released at december 31st i think the game will be released then, not sure but it's a logical guess right?

Is the release date really December 31st? I don't think it would be smart for them to release it AFTER the holiday season.

i was going to buy it but then i figured the GC controller is basically the same as the gamepad and classic controller (i think those are the names i just had a blank), only difference is the shape, so I may as well use those since I'd rather be familiar with the controls than the controller itself

yeah i can't decide if i should go with the bundle or game + pro controller, and i already have 2 gamecube controllers so i can have a 4 player game
and if i do get the bundle i would want more games to support the gamecube adapters.

and i'm not sure if i can even afford to pay $100 with all the other games coming out like hyrule warriors and pokemon ar/os

I'm having the same problem. Do I use my old gamecube controllers and screw the new fancy ones? I still want a WiiU Pro controller, but that's in a really awkward position now. I was convinced they'd show that off more but it's the one controller that they make that's just chillin there with no attention at all. No idea how they sell either, but they never got on sale for more than $5 off. So what the heck is that about

yeah i kinda want pro because it would be compatible with more games but it is pricey

To all of you who are going for other controllers than the GCN Controller, don't! I was playing Brawl a few days ago with a original Classic Controller, then just out of curiousity, I decided I'd play with my GCN Controller on my original Wii. The GCN Controller is a lot better to use on Smash Bros. and feels like it was made for the game. Pick up Super Smash Bros. Brawl and try it out on a Wii console made before May 2010 and you won't regret it. :lemon:

If you want to just get both the GameCube adapter and a controller, it'll cost you around $40 ($10 for the former and $30 for the latter). Not only you can play Super Smash Bros. for Wii U with it, but you could also use it for any GameCube game, provided you own a Wii console made before May 2010 (those that have controller slots and memory card ones) or a GameCube system. I'm not sure if there will be GameCube Virtual Console titles anytime soon, but I believe they'd let you use the original controller too.

Prefer being able to play most of the Wii U library of games with just a single controller? There's the Wii U Pro Controller. It's around $50 brand new, costing you ten more dollars than if you opt for the GameCube controller route.

As for me, I'll go get the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U bundle. My 3 GameCube controllers that are sitting at my home are worn out. Two of them have their Control Stick permanently became so loose they're unable to accurately register these inputs anymore, while another requires an uncomfortably harder pressure on the buttons to get them to respond.

I'm just going to buy three more Wii U Pro Controllers. The game isn't going to have any analog controls so I don't see the point. I'm not super competitive in Smash Bros. I only play with friends so it's not like I need 0-input lag.

Secretly, I hope this allows us to play our Wii games on Wii U with GameCube controllers again. It's not helping that I recently realized how good the GCN controller is compared to using a original Classic Controller for Brawl.

I have a feeling that it could happen. That THIRD party GCN controller is suppose to support Wii Mode through the controller port. But the WiiU Pro controller I don't think support's Wii Mode so that's a little funky there.

Yeah it costs as much as a game. Usually like $49.99. There's nothing wrong with the gamepad either, I actually want a WiiU Pro controller in case the gamepad needs to be charged, so I don't have to stop playing. Although that rarely happens but if I do forget to charge it after my last long play. I don't like using a Wiimote/nunchuck as an alternative, and the Classic I have is for Wii & Wii VC only lol
Maybe we'll get one when they finally tell us it's not selling and they'll do a discount down to $29 at least...
And to be fair, it's nothing to do with the WiiU. I don't think I'll get a 2nd PS3 controller cause it's even more expensive at $55.

Definitely shop around for your Wii U Pro controller. I bought mine for $25 during a Best Buy Clearance sale and hope to grab more.

What are the odds that Nintendo also sells their own GameCube controllers if PDP's doesn't work out?

they're selling a smash edition one
hmm pdp actually doesn't look bad, i might get it instead of this bundle
