suggestions for a clown-themed island?

Let's see, if you need villagers I think these guys would fit the category:
Pietro, Stitches, Marcel, Astrid, Hopkins, Zucker, Frita, Crissy, Francine, Judy, Tia.

Items: many of the bunny day stuff would fit, probably food or flower items since they are usually brightly colored (like the flower surprise boxes and cherry speakers), some colorful or circus themes items like the popcorn and cotton candy makers, fortune cookie stand, infused water dispenser, vending machines.
Also planting all kinds of fruit trees and flowers and bushes plus using custom colorful paths help. Just try not to use a lot of bland like stuff like rocky paths and cidar trees

Popping in here to throw in some other suggestions that may be less obvious

- Apple looks like a goofy goober and she'd fit the aesthetic well because of her face, colors
- I was thinking you could throw in a tiger like Rowan because they fit the circus theme
- Gotta get a monkey in there somewhere for acrobat, maybe Shari since uchi? Or Flip! Nana?
- Frita as the food/refreshments?
- Gloria the duck looks like a performer. Maybe not a circus performer, but a performer nonetheless. I think of magician's assistant
- Hazel?
- I'll second Limberg, I see the sad clown in him
- I'll also second Margie
- Phoebe may look a little too serious for clowntown but again the performer aesthetic is there.
- Rodney. Because he is a clown simply by existing.

It would be funny if you contrasted your fun colorful clowny town where everyone is colorful and whimsical with one boring monochrome office worker... named Raymond. (But the twist is, on the inside he’s the biggest clown of them all!)

pretty close to the villagers i have now tbh!! i have villagers like pietro, chadder, megan, drago, etc. and poor raymond is just in the middle of all these freaks lol

thanks for the suggestions everybody im writing these down
on the topic of clown themes i wanted to ask if anybody knew if there was some sort of clown or mime facepaint qr code floating around anywhere? also maybe a shirt design too? i'm mostly looking for the facepaint but whatever you got helps-- i tried to google it but had no luck

I think you could do some carnival games using the colorful wheel and a customized table with cups on it or ducks. You could probably do the stacked pins one that you throw the ball at (I can't remember what it's called) by customized a dress and putting it on a mannequin. You could also do one with the basketball hoop

In case you need some villager ideas to fit the theme I strongly suggest Marcel and Astrid. I think that Sterling and Stitches would be good too. I also think that maybe an elephant villager would be perfect sine elephants are often used in the circus, maybe a bear villager or a tiger too for the same reason.

Maybe some of the bunny day items? They're all very colourful and might go well with your clown theme. Otherwise cotton candy machines, springy ride ons, teacup rides seem good to have.

if my name didn't make it too obvious, my island is also literally named clowntown (pietro is a very prized villager) and i want to try to make it a bit circus-y and clown like if that makes sense. what items do you guys suggest? both clothes AND furniture and what not-- i'm looking for it all B)

Food related items like the popcorn machine or fortune cookie cart would be good! Also maybe different coloured balls (exercise balls?). The clown nose and jester hat might be good too

For my villager suggestions:
- Flip, as in acrobat.
- These superhero costumed villagers: Agenst S, Rocket, Big Top, Kid Cat
- Tucker, the caveman elephant. Though he's a lazy, he could be the circus strongman.
- Food themes: Merengue, Frita
- Julian. Because.

For furniture, you'd probably want to craft those Egg Day balloons. There's also playground furniture, rides (teacup, springy horse), vending machines, candy and popcorn machines, arcade machines. You can use those beach balls for color. Customize simple panels with circus posters.

The wooden block furniture would probably fit in nicely with either its bright or pastelly colours.

When it comes to villagers, I would suggest Judy, as I saw many people saying she looks like cotton candy, which kinda fits to a clown theme? Otherwise, Stitches could fit too as well as the superhero themed villagers (Kid Cat, Agent S, Big Top, Rocket and Mira). The Bunny day items are probably very fitting for this theme.
