The last one to truly scare me was Paranormal Activity (the first one).

time

so yeah, not sure if you'd find these scary but they're rather good films

-Invasion of the Body Snatchers
-Eraser Head((More Psychological, but the imagery can be rather disturbing))
-The Haunting ((The 1963 version not the crap remake))
-The Thing

the movie Martyrs really messed me up. it's very gory and disturbing though and there's a lot of stuff not appropriate for younger viewers. incredibly scary though. i'm kind of desensitized to a lot of scary movies, it takes a lot to frighten me and gore doesn't really bother me. but Martyrs really stuck in my head, its one of those movies you can't ever forget really once you've seen it.

a more lighthearted movie that scared me quite a bit was the blair witch project. its a dumb movie overall but there are a lot of good jump scares you don't expect and some genuinely creepy parts. but it doesn't really shock or disturb you or anything, its fun-scary. :P and nothing inappropriate.

Sixth sense, World War Z, Misery, The Purge (I was told it was), that's about it.

World War Z is more of an action movie than a horror film. It's a long movie, but I really liked it. Zombie action movie, heck yeah.

(Though the way the film ended was a bit too convenient)

Okay, I don't know like, people think this is stupid but I think the scariest is The Conjuring. And of course, the basic scary movie of them all that haunted me for years, my entire childhood, until now, The Exorcist.

I have watched a lot of horror films. The ones that I really enjoyed and kinda scared me were:
The Possession
The house at the end of the street
The conjuring
Insidious 1 and 2
Mama

These aren't scary as such but I really enjoyed them:
Final Destination 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
Drag me to hell
case 39
1408
Don't be afraid of the dark

I know but I found it quite scary xD And ikr xD

I prefer the older horror movies... They had a plot to them and weren't competing to see who can include the most blood, guts, vomit and eww ect.

I saw this Japanese horror on netflix though ~ it was actually pretty good. Sorry I can't remember the name though but it was about these kids who went into a haunted house at the fair but it came to life. They began to 'turn' and then they'd start trying to kill each other. It also has a mystery storyline that they try and solve which is to do with what happened to the house ect. There's this creep bunny with a balloon that passes by them, causing them to 'turn'. (The bunny belongs to a girl who died in the house or something).
It was really confusing but made sense at the end ~ only in Japanese but has english subs. Can't remember the name though

^ Ya Eraserhead was pretty scary o.O I love David Lynch. I don't know a lot of truly scary horror movies since I really enjoy ****ty/corny B-Horror movies... and pointless slasher films. but these kind of scared me or stuck with me, and I don't get scared that easily.

- Suspiria, just because I watched it last night again after a few years. It's not that scary but more nightmarish... the music freaked me out a lot when I first watched it.. and had the same effect on me last night (and D'Argento is amazing)
- Jacob's Ladder - more psychologically scary, again super nightmare inducing lol
- Cannibal Holocaust - more gross than scary but really messed up nonetheless
- The Descent 1 - I watched this the night before I went cave exploring with my friend in Cambodia so it really scared me.
- Jigoku - idk I just really like this one lol
