I sold my perfect cherry! I found out you could plant them so I did and then I let my trees die! I haven't been able to get another perfect cherry yet and I am crying on the inside.
I sold my perfect fruit when I first started too. Didn't spot a perfect cherry for months afterwards, so had to buy a few from someone online. D'oh!
Also sold the lawnmower that a villager gave me to Reese, without realising it was unorderable :-/
My sister did something very newbie though, haha. She was relatively new to AC in general. Well, one of her villagers asked if she could catch them a bug, because "their net had a hole in it". She actually bought them a new net, and asked me why couldn't she give it to them? LOL
Didn't know about the map options, sold my perfect fruit, got a LOUSY layout for PWP's, and really really really really want to help someone get a dreamie but have no idea how to do so. It sounds so complicated.
I PM'd somebody who wants Apple and Julian and I have them both and wouldn't mind giving them away, even for free. I don't even have one million bells, but I want people to be happy. I just feel bad that I'm such a tech noob that I don't know how to help out. It was only this morning that I PM'd that person but I haven't heard back. Well, that's all right. It may take time. Or else trying to teach a noob how to make somebody move is too difficult.
I suppose all around I feel silly just not knowing much of the mechanics of ANYTHING of this game I've come to love. But it's all good in the end - I will enjoy it for a very long time to come.
This. I somehow thought you got a perfect fruit every day, which you don't. Also, it took me a while to realize some items are not orderable! I somehow thought that if it shows up in your cataloge you can order it? So not smart.
When I first started my town, I sold my only perfect fruit... I didn't get one back for a while, either, I ended up having to get one from someone else's town because my trees never wanted to spawn them.
Oh, and this isn't really a newb mistake, but one time, I accidentally released an aripaima I was carrying instead of a sea bass. XD I released the poor thing into the ocean, it probably died...
Oh, and it took me WEEKS to learn that you can push and pull furniture. I wasted SO much time standing just right so that the bed or chair or whatever would face the right way or be right next to the wall, etc. SO STUPID! *head-slap* It wasn't until I saw some video clip on YouTube where somebody pushed and pulled that I realised how easy furnishing would be from then on. *sheepish*
