I don’t know if anyone here can help, but I don’t know where else to post. It's one of the SNES games on my switch and I've been stuck for months.
On the level there's a long jump that I can't figure out how to do. I've tried pressing every combination of buttons I can think of. This youtube has a playthrough of the level, but it doesn't explain how to do the jump.

The part I'm stuck at is 0:51. I commented on the video when I got stuck hoping someone would help, but only one person replied to say they were stuck too. I was really enjoying the game, but I can't progress anymore. Please help.

Unfortunately, I don't think I know the solution, but I just randomly saw this thread on the front page and wanted to say that I played that game on the original SNES, and it was always fairly easy getting past that part/level. So if you and others are getting stuck there for a long time, then that leads me to wonder if there's maybe a "glitch" in the switch version of that game, or if it was just made more difficult than it originally was.

At 0:51 of the video, that jump doesn't look too long to make. Hold the run button and don't let go when you make the jump. The P speed, the six arrows pointing at the letter P, helps give you momentum to make further jumps. I don't know if you haven't tried that or not. The person in the video had one arrow turn red, making it look like you don't need much momentum to make that jump. Someone else pointed out that they were having trouble making the jump at 1:55 in the video. When you make it to there, slide down the angled cliff and jump to make that jump since it doesn't look like there's any other way to use the P speed for momentum. I hope this helps.

thank you so much! I never noticed the p arrow thing before. I just tried and was finally able to make the jump!

Thank goodness! I wasn't sure if there was possibly a problem with the game itself. The P-meter gives Mario or Luigi full running speed, and when it reaches the P, if I recall correctly, you're able to maintain full speed as long as it's charged. Also, I don't know if you know how to fly in this game or not, so if you don't, I'll just leave this info here for future levels that may require flying. If you do, just ignore this. When you have Raccoon or Tanooki Mario, you just run, get full speed, and when the P meter charges fully, just tap jump and press it multiple times so you can fly.

Ha ha, that's alright. There are 8 worlds, so that means you're already halfway through the game, which is pretty good considering the P arrow thing. Worlds 6, 7 and 8 are a bit more difficult (naturally). There's a specific level in the ice world that requires getting full speed on the P arrow meter, then flying while holding a stunned koopa shell at the same time (in order to clear out a path of cute but carnivorous plants that are blocking the exit high up above). I remember that this was one of the levels that I struggled the most with at first.
