In the first week of having the game I decided to time travel 6 months in one go (from March to September). I've just been going along with it ever since, TT'ing forwards little by little. Now I'm stuck on the 3rd of January, 2015 and I want to go back about 10 months. I've read on some places that timetravelling backwards counts as only one day forwards. Does this mean nothing much will happen to my town and no villagers will move out? I'm kind of scared to go for it as there are some villagers I do not want to move out. Please help!

I'm pretty sure you'll be fine! I, too, have heard that going backwards counts only as one day; it's going forward that could harm your town.

NO matter how far you go back it always counts as one day! You will be just fine!

That is incorrect TTing forward is very dangerous! If you want to go forward and not lose anyone you need to go one day at a time!

I'm pretty sure it'll be fine if you TT backwards, since no matter how much you travel back, it counts as one day forward. So if you're in 2015 and TT back to 2014, it'll count as one day forward in the game and it would be the same if you were in 2020, or 2025, or anything else.

It's only really a problem if you were expecting anything to happen the next day (like a villager moving), since it'll happen on the same day instead, if this makes sense.

go back little by little

not if you have like 6,7, 8, 9 villagers in your town

Go back all at once. Doing it any other way will put your villagers at a higher risk. You can't be stuck in the future, only the past.

then why did i not lose anyone Lmao
Because you probably stopped someone from moving or no one wanted to move. As long as you make sure no one wants to move, no one will even if you don't play for an extended amount of time if no one was planning on moving the day you stopped playing, but the next time you play someone will want to move. If that makes sense??
