Strange night.

I decided to do some Island hopping. This girl named Angel arrives and immediately starts calling me granny, and saying really offensive stuff. Asking if I wear diapers, etc. We get disconnected and I go back and this male named Max arrives. He said he saw me on live stream, and I don't know what that means because in real life I am a grandma.lol. Then he starts calling me granny and starts saying very rude things. I can handle it. These things don't bother me, but it just seemed so odd that they both called me granny. It was like they were the same person and knew my age.

My entire evening of Island hopping has been very strange. I think I'll call it a night. Lol.

I've never gone island hopping before, but I've been seeing some odd things about the people others have encountered and it kind of makes me not want to try it haha. I would have, but the wifi went out both times and I didn't have time. I like Island hopping and I run into the same people all the time. I'm sure I'll see them again. Next time I'll be sure to block them right away.

It was probably your firm grasp of proper grammar and punctuation. I get called old sometimes for using "big" words (that aren't even big), but I too am a little older, so it makes sense in person. But you're right--it is creepy that they both called you that, and from just seeing/interacting with your mayor, no less.

I tend to stay away from Club Tortimer anyway, and you've just validated my decision.

the only thing i really hate at CT is when players pester me telling me they want a boyfriend. its even happened in spanish and in german. (then i had to suddenly pretend i didnt speak espanolish or deutsch anymore, lolz)

I don't usually socialize or mingle with other people on the internet island. I'm the person who shows up and starts shuffling around suspiciously. If there is anything on the island that i want to buy I always "buy and leave" as fast as I can.

Haven't been to CT island for well over a year, would like to go but all these posts put me off.
I would just be island hopping for items, but I do see that this in itself is annoying - the game saves as you enter and also when you leave.
I have always refused to do tours as I go in my own region around 2am - to try and avoid other players and yet it still is around 50-50 as to whether it is empty.

As to seeing info about you, - players can find out some by looking at the TPC - shows what badges you have, does it show your age?
Just your birth day I thought, no space for putting the year, anyway.

You could go with an alt player, (If they buy the membership), mine have a lot less badges than my Mayor.

Other players can see when you started the game - when you set it up. All my towns are set in 2013, so expect that would make them say 'granny' - someone who has played the game for a few years?

They were just trolling you. How stupid to call someone a granny. For all they know, they're older than you. (Immature, but older.) Aside from buying CT merchandise, I never go there. I'm much happier doing tours alone on my own island.

I haven't had any bad CT experiences. I still island hop, but I look for empty islands. As soon as I find one, I start a tour so no one else can come to that island. Then I do all my bugging & fishing in peace.
